Ok, i have come to terms with the zoo i am working to expel from my own body, and when they have come out they have been manageably dead, but i was not prepared for this:
except for the baby, my kids are all pretty independant about the bathroom, so i dont see what comes out very often, but occasionally my 4 year old doesnt flush, and this was a very loose stool, just before flushing, i took a good look at it, out of my new habits, and did a huge double take
the toilet was swimming with all these moving beasts. mostly there were two types, one looked large and furry, about 1cm long kind of round with legs (or maybe hooks, is this a hookworm?)
the other kind was a very small, maybe 1/8-1/4 inch and whipping around.
all were transparent, it was really unreal, sort of like looking into a microscope, but without the microscope. there were so many of them.
my child is tremendously healthy, no symptoms of anything, full of energy, no allergies, rarely even gets a cold, so this was no aha moment, i was really not prepared for this. i imagine my other children would have them too, but i never see anything squirming in the baby's diaper.
has anyone reading this dealt with parasite cleanse for a child? I think i will get the paragone for kids, but should i tell them they have wormies?, or just give it to them just as something we are doing for their health? Also my ex will really freak out if the kids tell them they have worms and i am giving them some herbs to make them come out.
This might have been the hairy one, but i am not sure how big this is supposed to be, or what it is. it looked like this, but was a little more than 1/4 inch long. not that i measured it
In my opinion I would not tell the kids that they have parasites. I would just make them take it and say it is something that is good for their stomach.
thanks, that was my feeling too, generally, i tell them SOMEthing about why they're taking whatever (which is very rare, btw) but i did not know what to say about parasites, since it is pretty hard to come to terms with having them myself (the only reason i figured out i have them is because most everybody has them and doesnt know it, so i just started taking a course of remedy)
i do remember when i was a child, my sister was diagnosed with pinworms, and my mother told everybody, who promptly ostracized my sister - my mother is, to this day, sure my sis got it from chewing a piece of gum she picked up off the ground - how to break it to mum she probably served up the wurm for dinner?
btw, the pic i posted a link to is wrong, i couldnt find the right one again
