Well, I finally got up the courage to do my first flush on Wednesday, I had been feeling so sick from my liver and gallbladder issues, I thought, "better now than later, maybe it will make me feel better." Well, I ate as recommended and did the epsom at 6 and 8pm. Did a plain enema to get things going at around 9pm. I already felt really nauseous (this has been one of my most bothersome symptoms for some time). I drank the OO and juice at 10pm and went to bed. I was in bed for about half and hour and then I became much more nauseous. Well, to make a long story short, I only slept about one hour the whole night and spent the rest of the night in the bathroom sitting by the toilet. I felt so sick. I never actually threw up. I started passing stones at 5am, the first one was really big (about 1/2 inch around). I ended up passing about 35 stones all together (maybe around 50 if I count the really small ones), two of them were 1/2 inch. I feel it was successful, I was happy to see the stones. But, I don't know if I have the courage to do this again. I felt so sick all night and all day Thursday (although I finally got some sleep on Thursday) and I still feel funky today (Friday). Why does getting well have to be so hard? Is there anything I can do to try to prevent feeling so sick while flushing? I really feel like this is the answer to my long list of health issues, but I am so scared to do this again and make myself feel so sick.
I can relate to the nausea. I have done 6 LF's so far and feel sick with all of them. Shelley suggested using a peppermint candy to suck on and I tried that with the last flush. It helped so much. Each time I felt nauseous I would pop it in my mouth for a minute or so and then spit it out. It brought instant relief each time. I also found if I drink some Emergen-C electro lites the next day makes me feel much better after all the epsom salts. I did both these on the last flush and I was able to sleep "most" of the nite. I hope the next one goes better for you. It sounds like you got rid of a lot of stones and I'm sure there is a lot more to follow. Just keep trying things the pay off will be worth it:) Gayle
I tried the peppermint candy thing, and it didn't seem to work for me. I felt like I was really prepared, but still had such a hard time. I am drinking emergen-c today to help with the dehydration. Thanks for the thoughts, I hope the next one is not as bad.
Hang in there. Each flush, according to my experience with 6 flushes so far, is different and unique, with it's own set of pains and challenges. But my experience is also that each flush gets easier and easier. It took me 3 days to recover from my first flush. Now I am recovereing by the same night. Last flush I went swimming and sunning the next day!
Stay with it and keep us posted. It is worth it - your health, your body is worth it, and you're going to start to feel a whole lot better. Hang in there!
Thanks for the supportive words. I hope you're right that they get easier each time. I was feeling a bit better yesterday (2nd day after flush) but today, feeling very nauseous again. Not sure why. I am hoping to be able to make it through about 8 flushes and hope that maybe after 6 I am feeling a bit better.
When I did my first LF 9 years ago, there was no internet and I didn't know a wonderful epsom salt/grapefruit/OO recipie. I've digged out a lemon juice/OO recipie, didn't prepare my system in any way (didn't know how) and just drank 1 glass of each. Needless to say, my symptoms were much worth than yours. I couldn't even sit by the toilet. I was so sick, I couldn't move. My face was greenish/grayish and I thought I was dying. I passed a handfull of stones and was very happy with the results afterwards. I thought my liver was clean. Boy, was I wrong...
My second flush was a lot more fruitfull. I passed couple hundred of stones. Some were large. Two of them were of a size of a plum. I didn't feel nearly as sick, I was moving around and slept through most of the night.
Now, (about 25 LF's later), I don't get sick at all, don't wake up in the middle of the night. Go to the bathroom when I wake up in the morning. Total pleasure.
So, there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
You did great. The first flush was the hardest. Keep flushing.
Thanks for the words of support. I hope you are right in that the first will be the worst. I know I have to keep doing this to get better, I just wish it wasn't so horrific.
I've found each flush to be very different from the others I've done. And they do get easier each time. You can definately handle another flush. In my experience you start to feel stronger with each one, and this feeling of strength may carry over into other areas of your life as well.
Hang in there. It sounds like you moved a lot of toxic stuff out and had a terrific flush.
Thanks for the support. When I saw all that stuff floating in the toilet, I know I was doing the right thing. I just wish it didn't make me feel so bad. Hopefully the next will not be as bad.
Sometimes the first few flushes result in a tremendous amount of toxins being released from the liver. I know this happened with me. I was fortunate enough to do my first flush guided by my doctor and he helped me through those horrible times by explaining what was happening. As your liver becomes less toxin laden and less congested, the flushes will become easier. Remember, chances are, its not the flush that is making you sick, but all the toxins your body is releasing. In the long run it will be worth it to keep flushing. Follow Andreas' advice about preparation and bowel cleanup (colonics or deep enemas at the very least) these additions make his cleanse so much better and effective than other similar recipes.
I guess you're right. I sure am glad to get all of those toxins out. I'm sure I'm better for it, even if I don't feel it yet. I know I will keep flushing. I have so much of a desire to get my life and health back, I just wish it didn't make me feel so bad.
Hi!
I'm not a veteran flusher {yet} but I've got a couple under my belt. I actually felt more nausous with my second flush than the first. I blame that on the olive oil. It wasn't fresh and had been out on the counter forever. But what do you do after you realise you grabbed and gulped the wrong bottle? [I mean if it was poison I'd try and throw it up, but I didnt want to have to do that all over again.] Anyway I didn't throw up, I slept pretty
good, and got out a few stones. Didn't use epsom salt either
so that maybe a factor. Dr Schulze recommends throwing a chunk
of ginger in the mixer, to help fight the nausea. So if peppermint does'nt do the trick, try ginger. Marj
Thanks Marj. I didn't think to try ginger. I have a ton of it in my frigde and some capsules in the cabinet. I will try that next time. Hopefully it won't be as bad.
Sorry for not responding to your post earlier, but it took me so long to work myself through the all the previous posts.
For some individuals, the first cleanse truly is the most uncomfortable, being the first opportunity for the liver to get rid of poisons stored there for a long time. I remember not sleeping at all during the night of my first cleanse. And I felt the weakest I could remember, but I hadn't done colonics prior to and after the flush. The second one was a breeze, compared with the first one, because I did a colonic on the day of the flush. If you have not done a colonic before the flush , this can also make you feel very ill.
To avoid complications and continued discomfort after the flush, make sure to have a colonic or colema after the liver flush as per directions in The Amazing Liver Cleanse. Trapped stones in the colon can make you feel really poorly. You passed some very big stones, so this makes this precautionary measure especailly important.
