I can't believe how easy that was! I expected to never make it past the first weekend. Well, I am probably going to extend and do two more days and quit at day 12 but I was thinking, maybe I should do two weeks even and extend to day 14? My tongue is still white, and I haven't been able to do that many salt water flushes since I couldn''t take how horrible it was. I plan to do at least three more.
When I break fast I am doing it with an all juice fast for a few days and then all raw indefinitely, or so I hope. But I would love someone to tell me something phenomenal happens to you if you continue to fast...
Also, seeing as this is my first fast and I am 31, how much potential gunk is in my body? Just wondering if first timers are encouraged to go longer since they may have more toxins built up. I mean, you are talking to the Mickey Ds, candy, Coca-Cola kid here - I haven't been a healthy eater for pretty much my whole life.
i'm on Day 10, also. my first time. like you i was thinking of going on for a few more days. do the juice thing for a few days. i'd like to hear the response to your question as to what great things to expect once you've passed the 10 days. the folks who've gone 40 days or more probably don't remember what it was like. you're 31. what a great age. i think it's unusual for someone so young to be interested in fasting. it's a good thing! i look forward to reading the responses to your question. peace.
Well I'm not a long term faster, but i am on day 12 and I can tell you, I am not psychologically prepared to go any longer. I think if I had had it in my mind to go longer than 10 days, I would probably be feeling that it could be beneficial to keep going, but as it stands, I am starting to get a little cranky because I feel my time is up. Yet I am still reluctant to go off the MC. ARGH!
This is my first fast too and I am on day 15. I was only going to go 10 days, but on day 10 I felt I could go 10 more. Now Im just like you- torn between wanting to feast vs. not wanting to sacrifice as yet unknown/ potential benefits from prolonging this.
You are sooo funny! I know how you feel. Earlier, when I wrote this post, I was so mentally prepared to go to day 14 and maybe longer. Right now I could go for a cheeseburger. But I'll drink some more juice and see what I can do....I'll keep you posted!
Greetings,
I was originally planning on a 10-15 day fast, but here i am on day 21. I feel really good and want to really maximaze the benifits so i'm actually thinking of going until 30 days. I've fasted in the past for 8-10 days. I usually know it's time to break the fast when i have a steady content state of mind and a general calm about my existance. This time i just have a sense that i can get more out of this one. My life was in a huge stage of confusion and i couldn't think straight. Many profound changes have taken place reciently and i really felt like i needed a new beginning. I still feel that after these 21 days these a greater sense of calm waiting for me if i search deeper. So I'm continuing.
My first fast was a 10 day, and that was definetly all i was ready to take at that time. I think that the healithiest thing to do is just incorporate fasting into your life. instead of really pushing to go for a long time on your first, incorporate 3-4 fasts throughout the year. You'll begin to really learn how your body works and what is a successful for your body to detoxify. fasting regularly really got me intune with my body and i feel like i know what to strive for when fasting.
Of course this is just my own personal opinion from my experiences. I'm sure it's different for everyone.
Good luck.
So far this fast has exceeded my expectation and i'm starting to
I think you got cut off. but I also think you are right. I definitely am glad that I decided to do this fast. It has really made me look at things differently and it simplified my life for a little while. I also think it will be easier to get back into eating healthy - you don't feel like you are sacrificing as much when you go from eating nothing to something even if it is all fruits veggies and nuts.
Good advice. I will try another fast in a few months! But I admire your perseverance. Take care!
My cousin pulled this qoute on me recently, "Good health is MERELY the slowest rate at which one can die." 'Merely' being the slap in the face.
So since I know all roads end likewise, I am for eating a deep dish of chicken enchilladas with all kinds of bean, cheese, vegetable and rice combos- heaped with guacamole and sour cream - along the way.
this does sometime happen. I myself ahve fasted many times in my life for many diferent reasons/ one in particular i had only planned as a five day fast and ended up going 38 days.without ever a pang of hunger or loss of energy. when it all is in sych you know it is right. but just the same immediately stop when its time has come to end it. jstu be super careful comming off fasts like these and don't succumb to the high surges of return of appetite. or you might regret the consequences. go slowly as you coem off it/ i fyou have a juicer use that fo r awhile, and stya as close to natural as you can btw ffrozen food veggies ore often superior to store bought fresh, cause often what is in store s ahsd been picked too early and is mayb eup to 2 weeks old by tiem it gets to you so alot of the vitamins have already begun the deterioration process.ssteamed is best.with cover aon and use all the water too.. i love my juicer.it is far superior in quality of juices that are store bought and so refreshing after a few sips yourealise no need to have allthat extra sugar at all !!
good luck on your fast !!! i applaud you !!!
