Endometriosis is not a symptom of colon dysfunction. Rather, it may be a precursor to colon dysfunction.
Endometriosis causes internal scarring which often involves the bowel - many times even causing blockages in the bowel or the intestines. The internal scarring may wrap itself around the internal organs and pull them out of position or crowd them in one area. This in turn leads to bowel dysfunction.
I would say that bowel dysfunction is a symptom of Endometriosis.
I recently underwent a colonoscopy and the dr. said it was very "twisted and distorted" making it difficult to pass the scope. I had a hysterectomy 15 yrs ago due to endometriosis. I can recall my ob telling me 'he had to scrape the endometriosis off the bowel'. If my colon dysfunction is due to this , is there anything to help cure or improve colon function?
Is it possible that if one has endo and scarring involves the bowel and subsequently causes blockages, that this could cause severe pain/spasms during pregnancy? I have been told in the past that it is possible that I have endo. I experienced horrible lower left pelvic pain during my pregnancy that was at first associated with gas or bowel movements, getting worse as my belly grew and then would occur more often and for no reason - the pain became spasm like. It would come on suddenly with no warning and would almost make me pass out. Any insight would be great as I would like to have another baby.

I am in my second week of the Robert Gray program. I bought everything from Holistic Horizons. Is this different than what you are talking about? So far my bowels are sluggish (which is normal for me) and I feel like they are sort of jammed up, although they do move. I am drinking far more water than I usually do so I know I am not dehydrated. Will the movements increase as I spend more time at each level? I am at level F.
Endometriosis is the presence of tissue that resembles endometrium outside the uterus. This tissue responds to hormonal stimulation just as the uterine lining does. The lesions may cause pain, pressure, and inflammation to adjacent organs as they build up and slough during menstrual cycles.
Endometriosis causes pain in many women that is either sharp or dull. It is more constant than the spasmodic pain of dysmennorea (painful periods). Dyspareunia (painful sexual intercourse) may be present. Endometriosis appears to cause infertility in some women.
