I am halfway through a parasite/fungus cleanse using black walnut extract principally. This has been very effective at stopping chronic bloating, extreme tiredness and very bad athletes foot. So then I started the ground cloves as suggested. But my body didnt react at all well, blood pressure shot up, felt hot and congested with pain in my back. From taking about 500-1000mg, I had about 2-3 hours like this.
Has anybody else had a similar reaction? The cloves are not grounded as finely as they might be or perhaps it is just a bad batch of cloves. But I would be interested if this is a common response.
My illness history is that I have had two bad inflammations of the liver, gall and pancreas over the last year, caused it seems by a combination of fungal, parasitic infection and possibly a gall obstruction, (the worse pain has always been around the gall). I have been much better over the last two months through a lowfat and low sugar diet along with the black walnut.
The other big things is that I was substantially under-mineralised, especially iron. So I have gone on a course of Floradix which has made a huge difference. I was probably both suffering from poor absorption, (very loose and frequent stools), and a drain on the iron supply through the infections.
After I am sure the infections are under control then I want to move onto the liver cleanse but at present this seems a little way away as every time I stop with the black walnut and have more than a little sugar, all the fungal symptoms flare up bigtime.
It sounds as if you may have a candida overgrowth problem. I have just discovered that this is the cause of many of the symptoms that I have experiences over the years. I have done a great deal of research and am nearly two weeks into a program that I hope will get rid of this problem. This is what I am doing.
I am taking six capsules a day of Solaray Yeast Cleanse, which contains caprylic acid, pau d'arco, grapefruit seed extract and tea tree oil.
One capsule of Udo's probiotics.
At least four crushed fresh cloves of garlic.
a Bowel Cleanse of psylium, flax and slippery elm powder (one tablespoon).
Half a teaspoon each of black walnut and wormwood.
In addition to this, I am doing a juice fast (mostly Celery , carrot and a bit of apple for taste) for a few days at a time to help to clear my system. The rest of the time I am eating mainly raw vegetables, no sugar and no grains.
I know this is quite a bit all at once, but I would rather get it over with. I experienced quite a few symptoms in the first few days due to die-off e.g. fuzzy head, aches, tiredness, bloating etc, but then I started passing white cottony stuff (presumably yeast) and have been feeling much better with the occasional relapse.
I hope that this does the trick, as I don't want to spend the rest of my life feeling 'a bit under the weather'.
I did consult an experienced practitioner about this combination and intend to keep it up until I am free of symptoms.
My belief that the best alternative, completely natural solution is probiotics. Joe, it sounds like your digestive system may be infected with harmful pathogenic bacteria that are producing toxins that your organs cannot cope and therefore under severe stress.
Of course, I must declare that I am not a healthcare practioner nor medically trained but has lots of information on digestive disorders.
You need good probiotics not just 'freeze dried' powder or tablets. The 100% live multi-strained lactic bacteria in quantity and quality that can get to work on the entire digestive system (both small n large - bowel intestines). That will clean and ease the effect on yor other organs. However, you should check with your competent healthcare advisor or doctor.

The Udo's probiotics that I use contain a guaranteed 20 billion live bacteria per capsule. This is the highest I have found in any probiotic suppliment. I have been using Udo's oil blend for some time now and believe that the products are of the highest quality.am getting extremely good results with these.
Thanks Jamine, but are they live and 100% recoverable?? In addition how many strains? You need at least 6-12 strains as some work in the small and others in the large intestines. Furthermore, what is the shelf-life? Being living organisms they need food to survive.
However, as long as they are good for you, continue as that is more important. I will check out the website shortly.
Take care
Hi Jasmine
I have just checked out the website and the probiotics you mentioned. The problem with this product is that firstly it is in "freeze dried" tablet. Can you imagine any organism survive being freeze dried? It does not matter how many billions bacteria there are, less than 5% will survive freeze dried. Besides we do not normally require more than 100 million.
Secondly, when you consume and assuming that the bacteria is revived, how can it withstand the harsh stomach acids? Only L. acidophillus can survive weak stomach acids and the others like L. bifidus etc will be killed. No protection for the bacteria to enable it to get to the intestines whee they are most effective in assisting absorption of nutrients and cleaning of the intestines especially the colon/bowel.
The 5 strains may be insufficient as different regions of the digestive system requires different lactic bacteria to be most effective. Last but not least, which are the transient and which are the colonizing strains. The colonizing strains are important as they are permanent and stays to keep and prevent bad and harmful bacteria to generate. The transient have their functions too but needs to be replenished regularly.
I hope this information is useful. Important to understand what you are consuming and whether they might work. I am not suggesting that these products would not work but maybe at minimal efficiency.
Take care
I am obviously interested in this discussion but I did originally ask about the bad reaction to the ground cloves. I have also had the same problem with a very strong anti'bacterial mixture from a very skilled German herbalist based in Portugal. His gentler mixture based on Black Walnut was fine but the stronger one including Grapefruit Seed brought me down even quicker and more severely than the cloves. I am trying to work out what this means for my system and whatever underlies my digestive difficulties.
I use the freeze dried probiotics and the effect is interesting. They help transiently but the effect has normally gone within about two days. Its back to the mashed potato, I am afraid. I did take one tablet anally and the effect was much quicker and very strong, but again it didnt last. What are these live strains you talk about Richard ? How are they kept alive.
I am now taking in some clove intake through Padma tablets and a tea that includes cloves so I hope that will be sufficient.
Just to finish, I would stress that, amongst the various things I have tried, two treatments stand out as having got me back from seriously ill to functioning again, working, swimming, some kind of love life and so on:
1. Black Walnut
2. A course of Floradix
However I have no sense of a cure in the sense of my body returning to a self-sustaining entity within commonsense parameters. Secondly I remain unsure as to what is even wrong with me in any precise way. All I know is I have been seriously ill twice in a year and I am normally a strong, fit person.
Candida, parasites, flukes, the residue of past infections, mechanical blockages in the liver and the gall....this is the general paradigm pursued here and seems to me broadly on the right lines. But pinning it down is perilously difficult.
Hi Joe
These live bacteria strains (12) of lactic bacteria are produced (not manufactured) naturally. Esentially a variety of fruits and safe herbs together with 2 seaweed n mugwort n broad leaf plantain are allowed to ferment naturally in a vat for 5 years. A starter strain of lactic bacteria is added and over the five year period, more strains added. Altogether 12 strains of lactic bacteria in a balanced mixed. The resultant concentrate after five years is really the food for tbe bacteria thereby allowing a shelf life of up to 3 years. The ingredients are all grown wild and gathered from cold mountainous regions and therefore no fertilizer or pollution.
The resultant concentrate with the bacteria is then encapsulated in a soft cellulose fibre gel - not gelatin and no animal content. This capsule protects the contamination of the bacteria during storage and also protects the bacteria from the harsh stomach acids when consumed. The capsule breaks down in the intestines being weakened by the stomach acids and the bacteria released in the intestines - small n large (colon).
At least five of the strains are colonizing (permanent) and the rest are transient. The colonizing strains attach themselves to the epithelial walls of the intestine and therefore crowd out the harmful and pathogenic bacteria from the intestines. Also these lactic bacteria produce natural antibiotics that will kill the harmful bacteria like E. Coil, Steph, etc.
The lactic bacteria are useful because they help breakdown food and absorption. Generally they produce lactase which will also help lactose intolerant individuals. There is so much information and if you really want to know more, do visit the website I mentioned earlier. All the information is contained therein.
Nestle, a major Swiss nutrition company believed that lactic bacteria boost the immune system of the body and have set aside budgets to do more research on it. Major nutrition companies have also added them to infant formulae in recognition of this.
What is important is that these bacteria work effectively and the beneficial results felt quickly. There are many who have tried and found it beneficial within 2-3 days of consumption and of course, to derive maximum benefit, it must be consumed properly and you are guided accordingly.
I believe we should keep an open mind to emerging products and methods and make an informed decision for after all, it is meant to be beneficial. Meant to help whoever I feel would benefit.
Hope this answers some of your questions Joe but very detailed analysis too are available, if you care to check them out.
Take care n keep well
Yes, I do but I just want to impart information about it to whoever was willing to listen as I really believe that it has no parallel in the market today.

Hi Richard! I too have a bad yeast infection that spreads over the course of the last ten years. I just ordered ThreeLac have you come across it in your travels? What lactic products do you use?
