Tell me, Coconut People... anyone here done a Liver Flush with the good stuff? I see people using alternate oils, but have googled and browsed and cannot find anything about a coconut oil flush.
Hi Somer, I'm surprised nobody has answered this yet. I have read only two accounts of people using coconut oil for flushing, but everything I've read says it won't work because coconut oil is processed by the body differently. I guess you could try it and see. I've never tried it because I don't want to take a chance on going through all the trouble to flush and then not having good results. (Guess I'm not much of a risk taker!) The olive oil works great for me. The other thing is that you'd have to heat the co and I'm not sure how well it would emulsify with the grapefruit juice without hardening up again. I sure wouldn't want to have to "chew" it, lol!
I live in Mexico and never have to heat CO, which is liquid at my room temp (warm rooms!). You shouldn't have to heat it much to bring it to a liquid state, which ought to shake up nicely with room temp juice.
I cannot imagine any oil is "processed differently". Oil is oil, and the liver/gallbladder is demanded to supply bile to digest it. I plan to try a CO flush. If it fails, at least I will know! I shall certainly post my results.
My fantasy flush is coconut oil/fresh OJ!!! Hey! You never know til you try!
And yes, OO/GJ works just swell for me too. Just fantasizing in a scientific sort of way!
Although I think that perhaps "oil is oil" is too much of a blanket statement. After all, they have different compositions, and one difference between coconut oil and the oils traditionally used for Liver Flush is that coconut oil has the high amount of saturated fat. Which may or may not make a difference - I'm "just sayin."
Yes it is on the liverflush forum. I forgot her name all the sudden it was something like Wil... Since people don't stay for years on the forum that person might not be reading the messages anymore.
I have found it before in old messages too.
Yep, you could well be right, but google as I might, no one seems to have the definitive answer. I shall be the guinea-person, and the world shall know my results!! :D
I only mean "oil is oil" in the sense that it all requires bile to break it down, which is what causes the liver/gb to FLUSH... the proof will be in the (coconut flavored) pudding!
My results today were no chaff, nothing remotely green, and no liver stones . :-(
Goo,,, lots of goo, remotely yellow and white mucus, and oddly bubbles galore I had. In the end, after doing a coffee enema, I delivered two small triangular liver stone shapes that reminded me of what I find inside my past stones. The two stones were translucent brown , waxy and smooshy as can be. Would not hold there shape for long I imagine.
I highly doubt I am stone free. In a couple of weeks, I plan on going back to using olive oil. I hope you had better results.
I still haven't done my Fantasy Flush (having just returned from a big adventure to Oaxaca and what with Christmas and all...), but I still plan to try it. Yours does NOT sound like a total waste of time!
I agree, everything else that I normally experience with olive oil occurred, good and bad like the nausia and waking up with a flat stomach.
I have always gotten green stones before so I was surprised to not see any.
I had planed on using cold pressed Pumpkin oil but,,,, it was very dark. It reminded me of old, oil drained from a car. Yuck! It kinda smelled like car oil too! LOL I could not do it. On the can it said it was "roasted" so I figured that could not be good.
Yeah, imagine flushing with old car oil!!? ACCCKKK! lol
Every flush is different, and I have only gotten green stones once. However, every flush has been a good flush for me! And I like to hold on to my fantasy flush... plan to try it after the holidays: Fresh squeezed OJ and VCO!
Could that white stuff have been excess candida, KF? (Yellow and orange are said to be released bile.)
Without reading all the posts in this forum to see if you already know this - coconut oil has been said to smother candida.
Someone said that coconut oil doesn't go through the digestive system, but is absorbed directly as food. (I have no idea how that could happen.)
The same fellow said that there is no nutritional difference between heated coconut oil and extra-virgin, because heat doesn't affect it. (I had read that it is quite stable, but not necessarily unchanged by high heat.)
This man should know, but maybe I need to ask him some more questions.
On the subject of liver flushes...a knowlegeable lady once said, "Oh sure, if you want to be sick as a dog for eight days!"
That made me sit up and take notice!
After that I decided to have OO and lemon juice on salad, frequently, and see what happened.
I became aware of something moving in the gallbladder area. Once, it scooted along a duct toward the stomach.
Within a few days I went on a long, bumpy car ride...three hours. As is my custom, I fell asleep with my head hanging forward, therefore, my rib cage was somewhat down into my stomach, bumping gently.
When we arrived, I needed the bathroom, and was a titch nauseous.
The stool was orangy and yellowish, in two layers. In the middle I could see part of a smooth black something with green flakes, about the size of a pullet egg.
I didn't know I was supposed to examine anything, and I flushed too soon.
The nausea was gone, and I felt great.
Now I sometimes beat coconut oil with lemon juice, garlic, and good salt, as a salad dressing or spread. I have added olive oil sometimes, and cilantro or parsley.
These mixtures are great on just about anything, especially for a butter-freak like me.
My health care professional pronouced my gallbladder as nearly empty of stones. Then I began to feel lumps in the area of the liver. Sigh...
One more thing he told me was that lemon juice breaks up stones. I wonder...
So, I'll make lots more of the coconut oil mixtures, and await your experiments.
Yes, it could have been. Although, my beef is with aging not candida.
I really love Curezone it gives me courage to try things.
I wish I could say it was all La Dee Da Da DAH.....
Although it was easy, my body tells me that my liver did not get a work out like it normally does with olive oil. Nor did I wake up feeling lighter in weight the following days. ( I kinda like that even if everyone says it is water weight.)
What did seem to get a work out if I can call it that was my heart.
After the one cup VCO flush I had experienced a heart burning feeling and a heaviness at that area under my breast that lasted a few days. It had me concerned. I am not accustom to "heart burn".
My intuition is telling me that when I flush I should use a mixture of healthy oils, including coconut oil, like the famous fat man UDO suggests in his oils and books.
I'll be sticking with primarily virgin olive oil for flushing from now on
until I learn how to balance and mix oils properly. Or, maybe just buy a bottle of UDO's choice for convienience sake.
I never had a problem drinking straight Olive oil anyway. I was actually searching for an easier way for my daughter who throws it up during her flushes and also interested because of all the good raves on how other essential oils are important for us too.
Doesn't go through the digestive system???! What a concept! Anything you put in your mouth goes "through the digestive system"... and as for coconut oil being any different from any other oil, I have yet to see a convincing argument.
I still plan to do this flush after the holidays and see just what gives.
As far as being "sick as a dog", that sounds like a personal problem. I have been pretty sick doing a traditional OO/GJ flush, and have read lots of posts claiming the flushes that make you sick are often the best, as was the case for me. I felt like a million bucks once those stones were OUT!
I have only read one post of an actual coconut oil flush, with inconclusive results. I shall be the guinea person! There are certainly people on the coconut oil forum consuming quantities of the stuff with no dire results (and lots of positive feedback)... and as far as heating it? Why would you heat it for a flush? It has a low melting temp--just sitting it in my oven with pilot light is perfect. Whiz with room temp fresh OJ and voila! My fantasy flush!
Hi everyone...I'm new to this message board & hope you don't mind me butting into this thread...but I cut and pasted this article that I've read on Coconut Oil that explains how it works in the body...might clear up why it doesn't work as well as Olive Oil for a flush.
I haven't done my first Liver Flush yet (have my first one planned for after Christmas)
Coconut oil is different from any other oil used in America. All common American oils are made from seeds like soybeans, canola (rapeseeds), almonds, sesame seeds, safflower seeds, sunflower seeds, etc. These seed oils are predominately made of triglycerides containing long chain fatty acids. Once eaten, these long chain fatty acids need to be emulsified by bile salts. (Bile salts are produced by the liver, stored in the gall bladder and dumped into the small intestine as needed for digestion. They are the emulsifying agents that draw the fats into the aqueous food solutions of the intestinal tract where lipase, a digestive enzyme, can work on them. The long chain fatty acids are now broken down into triglycerides made of 14 carbon atoms. This is the standard “energy storage unit” for the body. We call it body fat. All carbohydrates eaten in excess of energy requirements are also converted into these 14 carbon chain triglycerides. They are bound to HDL and LDL in the bloodstream and then transported into storage.
Since coconut oil contains mostly 8,10,and 12 carbon chain triglycerides (medium chain triglycerides), instead of being digested and traveling in the blood stream it is directly absorbed into the portal vein and goes into the liver without requiring lipase or bile salts for digestion. In the liver, these medium chain triglycerides (MCTs) support the immune system and help to cleanse the body of pathogens, toxins, etc. These supportive actions continue on as the MCTs travel through the lymphatic system to the cells of the body.
Since the medium chain fatty acids in coconut oil do not travel in the blood stream they have never been shown to contribute to heart disease, provided the oil has not been hydrogenated. People without gall bladders or who cannot digest food well, especially people who cannot digest fats (such as people with cystic fibrosis) can and will thrive on coconut oil. Doctors doing research have known for a long time that the elderly, the invalids and the very young thrive on formulas given them that contain coconut oil. Products like baby formula and Ensure use to be made with coconut oil. Sadly, even these items have fallen victim to the propaganda we have received over the last 50 years.
As the medium chain fatty acids in coconut oil travel throughout the body they are actually anti microbial compounds. For example, Lauric acid, which makes up about 50% of the coconut oil, becomes 2 mono-lauren. 2-mono-lauren dissolves the lipid envelope that protects most pathogenic bacteria and viruses. It also attacks pathogenic yeast and parasites. Lauric acid contained in a human mother's breast milk is the major reason nursing infants have a high resistance to getting sick. Lauric acid in the diet will have the same effect, regardless of age. Its anti microbial properties have been helping people for thousands of years.
Coconut oil, because it is smaller than the standard storage unit, is burned for energy rather than stored. This tends to do is increase the bodies metabolism. People with under-active thyroid glands often discover their basal temperature becomes normal from coconut oil use. Elderly Americans and many others with low energy notice they have energy again and a sense of well being they did not realize they had lost. And, unlike other energy the cell receives, the medium chain fatty acids do not require insulin. Most people in the U.S. have some degree of insulin resistance. Most people as they age, even though they are eating, do not feel they are getting energy from their food. The reason for many people is insulin resistance. The good news is that if a person has coconut oil or coconut products in their diet, the fats will be used as energy and that energy is not dependent on the insulin system working. Therefore, diabetics can get good energy into their cells without insulin and people who take naps, or think they need naps in the middle of the afternoon, have energy again. Low Carb dieters, as well, can eat their low carbohydrate meals, but have the energy they would otherwise have received from carbohydrates.
Lastly, on the skin the medium chain fatty acids in the coconut oil are identical to the medium chain fatty acids found in sebum. Normal flora that lives on our skin and keeps it healthy will actually live on the glycerol unit of the triglycerides, creating free fatty acids identical to those found in sebum. This allows the skin to have a slightly acidic pH ideal for keeping pathogens away and keeping the skin healthy. For people with dandruff or red spots on their scalp, you just douse the scalp with coconut oil and leave it for about 20 minutes. Then shampoo. You will need to shampoo at least twice. This works better than tea tree oil shampoo from the health food store or anything else you have probably tried. If you have red spots on your skin try it there as well. If you need a little more oomph, add a drop or two of lemon or lavender essential oil to the coconut oil. Many people get out of the shower and reach for their little pot of coconut oil. They just dab it on and spread it all over, very lightly. A number of customers have discovered that if they do this they eventually do not have to use deodorant.
I wonder if topical application of coconut oil doesn't also help the lymph system.
They say that a castor oil pack, over the liver, is useful.
KF, I wonder about your 'heartburn' experience. Could it be too much, too soon? Take very good care of yourself.
And, I didn't know that an olive oil Liver Flush lowered one's weight (!) in any way. I know that a magnesium oxide powdered 'bowel cleanse' formula, with lemon juice, does...wonderfully.
I'm told that overweight is water retention, in any case.
I really like the concept of mixing good oils in the daily diet, or the sources of oils, like ground flax seeds, and so on. It makes sense to try Udo's Choice for a flush.
We do a lot of bean and alfalfa seed sprouting, too. Yum!
I can only say what it felt like for me personally/individually FWIW. (I am over forty with no weight or gallbladder problems.) It only lasted a couple of days. Afterall, It was a whole cup of VCO with a large glass chaser of pure lemon juice. I had a couple of swigs of grapefruit juice as well. Very likely, too much lemon juice, (15 ounces) gave me the unusual heartburn.
VCO flush may or may not be "bad" for flushing. Perhaps, just not good for liver flushing and gallbladder flushing. Afterall, I did get out a lot of gunk and felt good afterwards minus the heartburn sensation.
Although in retrospect, I noticed the puffiness under my eyes did not go away nor did my eyes appear whiter and brighter as with all my other olive oil liver flushing.
A pro for Coconut oil: I noticed my sense of taste was altered/heightened for the better. I could taste tackiness for lack of better word. That tackiness being transfat. I put down what I was drinking right away.
I normally feel rejuvenated with emotional freedom after using olive oil flushing. Flushes out the excess hormones. Not this time.
With a Liver Flush you don't eat fat prior to flush to "build up" bile, then the oil is consumed during flush to cause a big rush of bile to push out the stones.
Coconut oil is the only oil that does not cause the bile release. Therefore, while its great for daily diet, I would not use it for a flush.
I looked for info on using CO for a flush. Didn't find anything, so I tried it. Out came bile and cholesterol stones, bile colored mucus, and the scum that sits on top of the water. A few tiny hard stones (size of pimples) came out too.
My combination:
1 c. GJ
1/2 c. warmed organic Coconut oil
I did the routine
Am ate lightly, no meat or oils.
12 noon ate fruit
2 pm Officially Begin Fast
6 pm Epsom Salt
8 pm Epsom Salt
10 pm CO/GJ
4 am woke up nauseated, immediately vomited, but noted no feel of oil. Pure grapefruit flavor only. Thank God, as I would not have handled oil in the mouth very well at that point.
Took only a half dose of Epsom Salts and didn't finish the last batch of ES. Probably would have passed more stones if I could have kept the ES down. Bleck. >:P
Did a few enemas and along came the train...
In my case, it worked very well. I'm still feeling things shift and move around, and it's 24 hrs after the start of the epsom salts.
You have given me new hope for attempting my Dream Flush: Coconut oil and fresh orange juice! I LOVE the combination of flavors... if it hoses out my liver I will be in Cleansing Heaven!
