I am straight female, have been married for 4 times and had multiple boyfriends throuthout my life, have a son from first marriage and almost 44 yo without ovaris and any sex drive. I want a male friend but without sexuai thing. I think, a gay man is just right person for this kinda relationship. No sex- just shopping...:)
Anybody wants straight woman as a friend?
Hey, if you want to meet a gay man just be very open. Chances are if you show people that you are open to homosexuality and even express interest in having a gay man friend you'll be suprised by how many people you'll find who are gay. Worked for my sister!
Sounds like you don't think you could be just friends with a heterosexual male? That if he was gay that would make it all better. What an excellent example he would be for your son. Maybe he could follow in the gay mans footsteps.
Of course it's easier for a woman to be friends with a gay man than with a straight man, because she knows there's no ulterior motive. What's her son got to do with it? The fact that his mum has a gay male friend is not going to make him gay, believe me! Homosexuality is not something you just choose.
If straight guys wern't such jackasses, she wouldn't have to worry. At least a gay man would be able to teach her son not to size women up like a piece of meat.
is a gay man. He's unbelievable, but a lot of hard work!!
My husband let me go across the country to stay with him for a week, no problem. He told me, that even when I'm old, he'll still be around for me. He loves to talk about American Idol...for hours. He tells me things that can raise my hair, but is definitely different than my girlfriends.
He loves me very much, and would jump in front of a train for me (if he's not wearing his favorite jeans...just kidding). He has a tough time with relationships, and for that, I'm always there for him. He always remembers all of our birthdays, and recently sent my husband flowers when his father passed away.
He told me he will keep me from wearing bad chiffon when I'm old.
My son calls him uncle. My husband calls him "your other husband". I go to functions with him when he needs a beard, like his last, huge, family reunion (he's from a eastern European family, and still in the closet with most of them). If I outlive my husband, and he is unattached, he thinks we would make good roommates at the old folks retirement community.
Maybe I was lucky, but most of my girlfriends with gay friends experience a very similar friendship.
Hope you are successful. You can't force it, but you can certainly be in the right places to meet these men. When the one gay man, meant for you arrives...Oh you'll know it. It will be like love at first site (without the sex of course). There is usually a lot of silly giggling at first...
Good in theory, but remember that gay men want sex with their own kind at any age. You'll have to be prepared to allow him to be himself and occasionally have flings with men. If you don't, then a) you're being selfish, and b) he'll cheat like crazy and hide it, and then you could be exposed to STDs and not find out about it until it's too late.
As a woman, make gay friends, but don't go for the gay partner thing. You're asking for trouble. We're fun to hang out with and go shopping with, and that stuff, but you're on dangerous territory otherwise. Gay men are for Christmas, not for life.
I know. I saw that and it registered. But she would like a closeness probably that comes with companionship. And you can have that closeness, but you have to remember that when the guy gets horny he'll be gone for a few hours, and sometimes just on the spur of the moment. That's when shopping for eye-liner might be put on the back burner. Dunno. Just saying.
"...And you can have that closeness, but you have to remember that when the guy gets horny he'll be gone for a few hours, and sometimes just on the spur of the moment. That's when shopping for eye-liner might be put on the back burner..."
Surely that's the case with ANY platonic friendship though? I mean, you could say the same thing if she were looking for a female friend...
We have to define what we're talking about here - friend or companion. Sounded to me like she wanted a companion. Friends get laid all the time. Companions are working to a schedule and can't wander off at will. But hey, every relationship has 'understandings'. People can do what they want as long as both sides agree.
