Well, another seven day oj fast has come to an end. I feel great. Cleaned out all the mucous and am ready to eat fruits and vegetables again.
Food tastes so much better after fasting. Makes one really appreciate the texture and sweetness of fruit.
Ended my fast with a little cantaloupe and an honey crisp apple. I just got turned on to the honey crisp apple from my organic produce buddy, and I'm in love. It has to be the sweetest, most crisp, juicy apple I have ever had. I now must save up and buy a couple of those trees to plant next spring. I even juiced a few and it is the best tasting apple juice I have ever had in my entire life. Anyone know how to make a good hard apple cider?
Tonight I just started a special High Sabbath, the Day of Atonement. So I get to fast again today because it is a day to practice self denial and atone for one's sins. Life is grand and I thank God for it daily.
So after today I will have fasted this year for a total of one hundred and seventy seven days. I think I have totally shut my metabolism down, lol. Now I am going to spend the next six to eight weeks rebuilding it so I can do my first true fast in December, which will be a distilled water fast like all the old great fasters advocate. I am really looking forward to trying that out.
Hope you all are having a great day. See ya on the flip side,
Hi MOG-- don't forget "At-one-ment"-- the flip side of "atonement"
the prior-and-always Grace. (not that you don't know)
My son's great gran (Bubby) passed just before Rosh Hashana at 99 1/2 (!) after a ten day 'fast'.(!!!)
She knew what she was doing...played golf and drove until about 92--lived through a lot...fel asleep in her own home...
Hard cider--a friend + co-worker always made it with a few good Muscadet (?)
(those big fat , amazing guys) raisins. Never had any like them. She made great hard cider on her porch -- she also made easter eggs with the yellow yolk and separate white and 'shell' of dark chocolate, back in the day -- meaning,
she was a 'gourmand' -- she had beautiful crystals in all her windows too,and coloured bottles...( these were the "innocent" days of "Draft Dodgers' , here in Canada...)
