I have called around a few dentists in my area and I dont know what to consider a fair price. I called the first one I found that said holistic dentist and the secretary told me:
full mouth X-ray for $125
additional consultation "getting-to-know-you" fee of $150
and then "we'll see how much the cost is for the fillings themselves".
I am very depressed about this being that I am a full time college student on a shoestring budget.
Does anyone know if this procedure is covered by dental insurance? If yes then perhaps I should wait until I start working and have insurance and then do the Amalgam swap?
Or do you recommend just going to a normal dentist for the removal? I have one really tiny amalgam filling on one tooth with "tatoo" underneath and I have one giant filling on the crown of one of my back molars.
It is becoming apparent to me that holistic dentistry is a luxury reserved for the rich, upper class.
I am afraid to start my Liver Flush and Master Cleanse knowing I have metal in my mouth. I am 28 years old and have had these fillings for 10-15 years.
the fillings are not normally covered by insurance unless you can get the dentist to say there are cavitites under them and they need replaced. most biologic dentists say that to get them covered even if they are not. they cannot be taken out for health reasons because that is illegal and mercury fillings are thought of as not unhealthy.
the amalgam tattoo has to be cut out of your gum. it is oral surgery. i recommend a biologic dentist. yes, they charge a ton. that is why i prefer mexico. but, if you don't have much work, you may just have to grin and bear it, and fork over the cash. maybe you can charge them for getting to know you as well.
