I have tried the Colonix system, PROFESSIONAL colonics and Oxypowder. NONE have worked for me. I was expecting to feel like a new person and that DID not happen.
I stopped the COLONIX a couple weeks ago and my problems are back bigger and badder.
Does anyone know what it means when you get a tummy ache AFTER a BM?
I will be fine and then have a BM (not an easy one) and then I have a stomach ache.
I am getting so frustrated because I know that I am all yucky in my colon!!
Are some people just not as easily cleaned out?
What should I do next? A different product? What has worked for all of you?
Hi ellamacy123, as the mom of 2 year old triplets, I can imagine that you might be under a lot of stress. Did you have this problem before becoming pregnant, or is it something that has recently developed? How is your diet? Do you get adequate sleep? (Certainly understandable if you don't!).
The discomfort you are experiencing following a BM is unusual, at least in my experience, usually it's the other way around. When you say your BM is not an easy one, do you think it's because the stool is hard and dried out?
Do you have an enema bag, and if so, do you have a stomach ache after taking a cleansing enema?
Without any other information, my instincts would be that stress and eating habits would be the first things I would suspect.
Thanks Valerie.
I had this problem before pregnancy, my diet could be better and I do get enough sleep beleive it or not. My stress isn't too bad most of the time.
I do not have an enema bag and I don't even know anything about that. Think it would be a good idea? What do I do? Where do I get it?
Thanks again!
Hi again, in general I believe an enema can't hurt, it can only help. In fact, even people who are in good health without obvious symptoms can benefit from an occasional cleansing enema.
Here are some links with more information on enemas:
Most of the larger drug store chains like Walgreens, CVS, Eckerds etc sell enema bags. A combination hot water bottle, douche, enema syringe will probably be the most convenient and costs under $15.
Hi again,
What are P&B shakes? Whats your opinion on them?
Also, I have heard of a lot of different "recipes" for enemas. What do you thing about that?
Thanks so much for your guidance!
I messed up in my previous reply with the last link. If you click on it you should see a picture of a Walgreens box for what a combination enema bag typically comes in. The image is also in the images section of the enemas and colonics topic support forum here.
Hi ellamacy123, in your first message you asked if some people just are not as easily cleaned out? The answer is yes, and a lot depends diet and eating habits as well as the degree of the bowel's natural peristalic function.
You also asked about P&B shakes. P is for psyllium, which provides fiber and bulk, and B is for Bentonite is a clay based mineral which draws impurities from the digestive system. Given your particular situation, I suggest that you avoid P&B shakes at this time.
As far as recipies for enemas, I suggest that at least in the beginning you stick with a standard saline solution. Use one teaspoon of Sea Salt or non-iodized table salt for each pint of water, or 4 teaspoons for a full bag. The water temperature should be 103 degrees F at preparation time. Use your baby bath thermometer to get it just right.
This is the safest enema solution and should provide a gentle and relaxing cleanse. The return can tell a lot about what might be in there.
