a while ago i noticed the whites of my eyes getting a bluish tinge. (everyone i told thought i was crazy but i could definitely notice it!) i did a couple lemon juice + olive oil drinks, i do oil pulling every day and i fast sometimes and so the blue tinge went away - the whites of my eyes are now clear and bright. my irises also got a lot clearer and brighter with the colour (brown around iris and green outer) getting a lot more intense (before they were dull and muddy looking). i can see more clearly as well!
my question is to do with a blue ring that ive always had around the outer edge of my irises all the way around. is this normal or should the whole iris be brightly coloured?
also do you know what the bluish tinge in the whites could have been and whether it can be related? (my thought is that it was some kind of heavy metal accumulation since i wore heavy make up every day for many years and used lots of commercial beauty products - but ive given those up now thank goodness!) or is it to do with iron deficiency maybe as i was anaemic when i was young?

That's a good site :) I wish I could help because I have an iridology book at home, but I'm on the road right now and won't be home for another week or so. I have something similar to what you describe in your eyes, so I'm particularly interested.
it is saying the same thing you pointed out jowanna, that it could be a oxygen ring. except it calls it anaemia ring. i dont know if its the same but from what i understand its from poor circulation, not enough oxygen and congested lymph. that sounds about right for me since i always have problems feeling cold all the time esp extremities + sinus problems plus i dont tend to do too much hard going aerobic exercise. anothing thing pointing towards this is that i had bad anaemia when i was younger. so maybe i will try doing some and see if the ring changes! im excited to see if it does!!

my mom and my bro have the same exact eyes as me, hazel with brown in the middle and green outside with the same exact blue/black ring outside! im dying to find out if its significant or not!

Oxygen ring makes sense to me too - I'm ALWAYS cold and I'm vegan so a lack of iron is a problem. My iris used to be bright yellowish-green, but since I've been cleansing it's more of a bluish green. My iridologist tells me it'll go completely blue eventually.
The ring around your iris is called the scurf rim. I hope I'm spelling it correctly, it's been awhile since I read the book about iridology at healthandsoil.com.
'One can quickly assess the relative efficiency of elimination through the skin by looking at his iris (the colored portion of the eye). The skin is represented by the outermost part of the iris. If it is very dark and dense, the condition is called a "scurf rim" in iridology, and it means that the skin is relatively blocked as an organ of elimination. To open it up, skin brushing before a shower and vigorous use of a loofah sponge in the shower are recommended. A good quality vegetable-bristle, skin brush should be purchased from the health food store or pharmacy. One should brush up the front of the body and down the back, over all exposed skin surfaces, until a warm glow is felt. Then one should take a warm shower and rub briskly with a loofah sponge (available in most health food stores) to remove the layers of dead skin loosened by the brushing. (We have found it best to take a hot shower each morning.) '
so far, no change in the ring. ive resumed cleansing with another lemon/oo drink and also started up detox baths (oo/epsom/herbal infusion) with vigourous rubbing of skin after (in absence of skin brush). also doing hot/cold showers.
actually, the ring did appear slightly paler earlier in the week but it could just have easily been my imagination. (so the difference is negligable anyway i guess, if it is that small that it can barely be noticed)

other iris changes include much lighter brown colour on inside which is also much clearer, dark spines radiating from centre are also lighter and fewer (right side worse than left still). also, my pupil is clearer definition, much better differentiated from the brown central colour. before i could not see the outline of my pupil and now i can see it very clearly! these changes happened since doing egg/lime/oil/swf, detox baths and drinking kefir.
i am excited to see if the brown colour disappears all together with further cleansing esp with more swf/enemas. i am also excited to see whether my right eye shows improvement or at least catches up to my left after doing a Hulda Clark liver flush.
What book have you read about iridology? The only one that I've read is the one at soilandhealth.something. It was difficult to understand, or should I say, it would take a tremendous amount of studying to get anywhere with it. I also have Bernard Jensen 's The Chemistry of Man, which only has a few paragraphs about iridology.
I'm taking detox bath's too, so I'll start to keep an eye on my scurf rim. That's an easy enough thing to check.
Jensen says that when the white lines start to appear, healing is starting to take place. In the recent year or two many white lines have started to go through a dark area on my left eye, but it's just not happening in my right eye. My right eye has many black lines or flecks, and I'm not sure what they mean, although I know they're not good. Do you know what the black lines mean?
My eyes are similar - my left eye is bluer while my right eye has more black flecks. I read it means that, in my case, I'm more right-brained (you know, right brained ppl are generally creative, left brained ppl are more logical, ect.) and my problems are more prominent on my right side.
The black lines mean a stressed organ and toxic accumulation. It means those areas aren't functioning optimally. ie. A line where your kidneys are signifies your kidneys are under great stress.
here is what i know about black in the iris: black specks = toxins (one has appeared for me too, since starting cleansing). depending where they are in the iris map, you can see what part of your body is affected as far as i know.
black spines radiating from pupil: poor digestion, sluggish, toxins not moving well out of bowels. this is only what i read from 1 source though (same book as you read the soil and health one).
my scurf ring seems to be blurring around the edges and getting more milky rather than the very dark opaque it started out. i think it really is starting to go away!!! skin brushing helped me a lot with my skin (actually stimulated my lymph so much i had a detox reaction from it!)

Thanks, ob, I will also go to that site later tonight. That's interesting that your scurf rim is fading. I think I'll start skin brushing again. I do it for awhile and then stop. I think if I keep an eye on my scurf rim and notice some difference, it will give me some motivation to stick with it. I know I have clogged lymphatics because I have swollen glands in my neck. I have so many black specs in my iris that it's scary. I'm do a heavy metal/chemical detox now, and I'm going to try to see if any of the specs clear up. I've had mercury in my body since I was a kid, so I'm sure it really settled in and may take a few months to clear it out. But I love iridology because you can actually see what's happenning. (I don't know enough about it, but it's still interesting.) Have you ever checked out sclerology? That's easier in a way, but doesn't seem so specific.

i love iridology too! i love seeing my iris colour changing! my spines have decreased a lot from doing a 3 day juice fast and especially from coffee enemas. i used to have brown colour radiating out but now it is mostly just a circle around my iris. (i read that having brown radiating was due to candida overgrowth unless confined to the central collaratte - so have coffee enemas helped my candida?! interesting...) my scurf rings still present but still seeming to be blending in better and becoming more translucent.
it is really interesting that you say your neck is blocked. mine is too!!! i only noticed when i started skin brushing the area all around my neck, collarbone and upper chest is totally blocked. especially under my ears is really bad. its improving slowly i think. one thing that has helped a lot is taking spice in my detox baths (cayenne and ginger working best) and drinking the master cleanser drink while soaking really loosens things up.
my speck is still there. i find it quite scary too. i was hoping to find some improvement after my juice fast but no joy. would have liked to have kept going more than 3 days but losing too much weight. this speck is in my right eye and seems to be in the mouth/jaw section. i have had extensive dental surgery and work when i was a kid so maybe it is related to that. i know i felt some healing twinges during my fast but there is probably more work to be done. will have to put some weight on and try again for a longer fast and see what happens. interestingly the fast has visibly helped the health of my teeth, but what is going on under the surface is probably more important. i wonder if the speck is related to my blocked neck...

Blue or bluish-gray rings around thie iris may be due to elevated levels of cholesterol. Some individuals have a genetic predisposition for developing these rings. Green rings are a sign of Wilson's Disease due to high copper levels. This must be treated usually including copper chelation.
