I recently tried eyelash extentions from my local spa. Although I loved them, they have really given me a problem with my eyelashes. I pulled them off this morning and have little to no eyelashes left. Being a single women, this isnt a good thing. I need to do something that will help them grow back quickly! Been reading about castor oil and would like to try to regrow my eyelashes, but I don't know what kind to use, where to apply, and how often. Please help me! And if you know anything I should NOT do, please include that info as well!
I pull out my lower lid and apply it that way. It's an extremely heavy oil, though, and that took some getting used to...and I don't do it everyday...maybe every week or two.
I have used the castor oil to regrow eyelashes with great success but you have to be patient.
I was on another beauty forum and almost everyone who tried it had success. I used the cold pressed castor oil which I purchased at my local health food store but there were others who just purchased the processed castor oil from the drug store and it worked as well. Castor oil is known as a laxitive and you would find it in that section.
I would take a q-tip brush it on the base of the lashes and massage it in. It does'nt irritate the eyes. Right away you will notice with what lashes you have that they are darkened. (Before mascara women would use castor oil for this purpose)However, the downside is that it takes some time. Some reported noticable regrowth in four weeks, for me it was closer to 6 weeks, but I now have a full lash line. It is probably better to do this at bedtime as the oil can be messy. I would think that you could do this as often as you wanted to.
Thanks! I'm happy to hear it will work. I've been using a cue tip just the way you recommended. I do do it at night as well. I'll make sure and update the forum on how it worked for me. I just wish it would work faster. But beggers can't be choosers! No more fake eyelashes for me!
I recently went to my opthalmologist with a raging infection in one eye I had been unable to cure myself over about 2 weeks. Prior to this I had experienced dry, red eyes for some time, but always blamed it on the dust in my area.
She diagnosed microscopic parasites that burrow into the base of the eyelashes. The dryness and redness was due to the little buggers tossing their parasite trash into my eyes(!), and my eyelashes had become quite stubby and sparse.
She gave me drops for the infection and dryness, but says what will cure the parasite problem is scrubbing the base of both my upper and lower lashes with cotton gauze dipped in warm water with a drop of baby shampoo, morning and evening, for a month. Rinse well, of course.
I am ten days into the program and cannot believe how white my eyes have become, and the lashes are already starting to grow back!
Bathing your eyelashes in wheatgrass makes your eyelashes grow longer. I think because of the protein. Also wheatgrass to bathe your eyes makes them look bigger.
Some use the fresh wheatgrass juiced but i use the powdered version from the health food store and mix it with mildly warm water put it in an eye bathe and soak some on one eye i open and close the eye occasionally. Then i refill eyebathe with new mixture for the other eye. I guess it doesnt matter which type of wheatgrass you use.
This is a beauty secret i found out from a dear friend and im glad to say it works.
Your method would be great for me, due to me having the powdered wheatgrass, already. By making an eyebath, (sorry for the question but when it comes to my eyes, I want to be ABSOLUTELY sure what I am doing :D) that would be putting a little powder into the mildy warm water...is this in a bowl and then cupping it to your eye? OR how exactly is that done, please?
I will begin this today. My lashes are soooo sparse. I put on my mascara 3 times and it gives me a lash but not as long as others I have seen.
Thank you again, Nastarz, for your time and information!
Hi Beth,
I already had a little eyebath container that came with a chemist bought eyewash. I use that container to bathe my eyes with. So you will need to look for sometthing small enough to cup your eye with and make sure the water stays in the container. Do it for as long as you need to. I do it for atleast bit longer then a minute each eye. You are on a roll with this.
Put in 1/2 teaspoon of wheatgrass, mix it in a glass with a little off the warm water. Pour some off the mixture out of the glass into the eye cup for one eye and then rinse and repeat with the other eye with the remaining mixture from glass.
Do it for a week and let me know how you go. You will also notice that your eyelashes will naturally curl slightly.
