I've tried to do the water fasting I could only go for 5 days which I lost a good 11 pounds but I think I gained some of it when I hate on my 6th day:( .. I was wondering If I can Fast on diet coke (0 cals), green tea(with spenda sugar), and lots ofwater, they're all no cals drinks. I feel like I can last longer on that My goal is 30 days I'm starting it tomorrow. Can somebody tell me if that's good or not? I really need motivation. I'm 5'7 205 pounds.I feel like it's the same as the plain water fasting but ill get a better taste.
Things like Aspartame and sucralose (the artificial sweeteners found in Diet coke and Splenda) are VERY bad for your body!!!
When aspartame was first introduced, the FDA reported MORE complaints than ANYTHING else that had previously been approved by them!!! IT IS A HORRIBLE THING for your body! There are LOTS of websites showing how many things aspartame are connected with...including Multiple Sclerosis!!!
Sucralose, the generic name for what Splenda really is, has been PROVEN to destroy the thymus gland by at least 40%!!! Your thymus gland is something in your body that is VERY important for IMMUNITY!!! It angers me terribly to see the commercials where advertisers are aiming Splenda products at our children! Children have thymus glands that are not fully developed yet, simply because they are still growing! It's all about the MONEY, Honey!
Please don't harm your body with the likes of products like those.
They are NOT better for you!
Your taste buds WILL come alive during a fast! When you come off of a true water-only fast, food NEVER tasted SO good! And I'm talking about healthy food!
I still don't have a taste for candy anymore. I hope to remain a former chocoholic!

Xylitol is an alkohol-sugar (just a chemical name - no alkohol in it). It is sweet and taste like sugar. It does not not require insuline from a body. 2-3 tbsp a day is a very safe amount. Americans consume 150-200 lbs of refined sugar a year, it is crazy. No wonder people get sick. Xylitol is good for diabetic people, don't even ask a doctor it is so safe. Xylitol will not give you calories at all, it comes from a plants and it is natural and always organic. The other alternative is stevia but personally I do not like it. Go to health food store or health herbal and ask for a sample, they might have it. Trust me Xylitol taste like sugar and it is sugar. Regular refined sugar is one of the biggest poisones of the century. I am not selling anything so I can not get you any link but you can find Xylitol in every health food store (organic). It is very popular. Personally I use 2 lbs of Xylitol a year. Have a nice day. James.
Another natural product (that DOES have calories, btw, but also does have a low-glycemic rating) is agave syrup.
I found some "light" agave syrup (before my fast) at my health food store, which literally tastes sweet, like liquid sugar. It doesn't even have a taste, like honey does.
I use it when I make lemonade for my child. Real lemons, pure water, and light agave syrup. She's getting a healthy drink she loves...with NO sugar!
That sounds like an eating disorder type of fast. Definitely look into juice fasting and read the posts on here and research the web. It will sustain you with the nutrients your body needs and still give you weight loss. Diet Coke and Splenda will pretty much cancel out any benefits you might have got from the green tea.
Do a juice fast and drink plenty of water while you're on it and you will get the results.
I know it is very hard to start water fasting but if you are very honest you should stop being hungry in 5-6 days. After that you can go for a long time. Actual water fasting starts when you are not hungry any more. When you stop being hungry your body will switch to digest your fat and will not look for food in your stomach or intestines. The first 5-6 days your body is digesting all left overs in your intestines. You were may be short of this one day. Do not eat anything, no protein, no juices, nothing, just water, mineral water is the best, no enema, body will adjust everything. If you have injured knee and you feel pain do not panic. It means cleansing process. Fat has all vitamins when digested and all poison to release. Do not expect to be fasting free of pain.
