Hey everyone, I'm back from the clinic that Aggiespoke told us all about and all I can say is WOW! I will put all that happened in a seperate post, but let me just tell you that I thought I knew pretty much all about candida, how it works, why it does what it does, etc. I just came back with more incredible information and hope for us all. For the first time in years, I feel like I have finally the answer and started today on the road to hopeful health.
My question to you all is, do any of you have candida in your lungs? My candida is systemic but I never realized how much it had infiltrated my lungs. Throughout my life, I have had asthma and bronchitis issues. The last few years I thought it hadn't been too bad, as I only had asthma with the bronchitis and only had bronchitis once or twice. Well for the last few months, I've been constantly having to clear my throat, especially after eating and upon waking. It feels like a combo of someone tickling the back of my throat along with an excess amount of mucous and the constant need to clear my throat. Now for the last two days, I have developed a pretty persistent cough and didn't think too much of it. While at the clinic, they tested my lung capacity (you blow into a special tube as hard and as fast as you can) and I was shocked to see that I have lost about 20-30 percent of my breathing capacity. Needless to say this is very serious. Today I woke up and my chest is very achey and I feel like I do when I have bronchitis. I'm still coughing, clearing my throat, feel out of breath and winded easily, etc. I'm pretty sure this will clear up once I can start on the hardcore cleanse they are putting me on, but because you have to do things in a certain sequence, they don't want me starting the cleanse (with Nystatin) for two weeks. The thought of going through this misery for another 2 weeks while strugging to take a deep breath is a bit concerning. I am going to talk to the clinic on Monday to see if they will let me start sooner. Did anyone else have the candida/lung connection and if so, did you have the same symptoms? Thanks.

make sure you give us all the info about candida etc and also diet plan etc, cleanse etc. is he attacking one issue at a time? anyway sorry cant help with lung prob, but i have many other systemic compalaints. anyway take care. oh you might be interested to know as we are both in same boat baby wise.....anyway we have got another day course and then interview with social worker and then we are in the adoption pool. (of course i will be better and have my own, but i feel less stressed with this backup plan). sounds like this doc you are seeing will have you sorted out soon which is cool cause i no that like me its a struggle..

Bemmer, with regards to people like you, me and Aggie, there is a hormone connection. That is why we have not been able to get rid of the yeast, or get preggo. I confirmed that I am hypothyroid, have poor Adrenal function, have Estrogen dominance, etc. All of these by themselves can make a girl infertile, let alone all three, on top of the evils of the candida. It was so great to have someone finally figure out the missing piece of the puzzle, and I knew there was one. And for guys readings this, don't think you can't have a hormone imbalance because you're a guy. Many of their patients with candida are guys and they do have hormonal imbalances. As the doc explained, we will never get rid of our candida, no matter what, until our hormones are working right - which of course makes perfect sense. Hi MacKenzie. Sure, I'll tell you what they said. First off, it's important to say that each person's diagnosis and thus treatment plan may be completely different from the next person's, so a one size fit's all candida protocol is not in play here. These doctors are hormonal and candida experts. They have found in their decades of practice that there is almost always an underlying hormonal and/or allergy imbalance when there is a candida infection present, whether your male or female. As I had suspected, that wsa the case for me. As I stated in the other post, I have hypothyroidism, Adrenal Fatigue, estrogen dominance and the yeast issue. So, for me, after I slowly add the supps. I will be on over a period of weeks. Right now, I just started taking Armour thryoid, which is the safer, more natural version of thryoid. Synthroid is deadly and I would never recommend anyone take it. It made me deadly sick. And even if you don't notice problems from it immediately, it can cause long term health issues. The clinic I am going to will not use it. They also start you on the smallest dose possible and gradually over two week intervals slowly increase it until you start noticing a decrease in your symptoms. They hyper monitor how you feel to determine the right dose for you. If you start feeling jittery or have a racing pulse, then you go back down to the dose you were at previously, and chances are that is the therapeutic does for you.
Day two, I added vitamins and minerals. These include a multi vitamin pak (meaning that instead of putting all the vitamins in one tablet, they give them to you in about 6, which oome in a ready to use pak, plus a fish oil capsule). I also take Calcium/Magnesium in the proper ratio, Vitamin D, Vitamin C, the non-toxic, non-allergic form of Iodine, which I think is called Iodinorl or something like that, I can get you the exact name if you want, and alpha lipoeic acid. Then tomorrow I will add on a natural supp called Cortisol for my adrenals. This most likely is not a long term supp, as you take it long enough just to build up your adrenals again, and have them functioning properly on their own. It's important to say also they use their own compounding pharmacy. Everything is made specifically to your needs and that is why regular pharmacies won't work for this type of thing. And that makes sense as the one size fits all pill is obviously not right for everyone.
Two days after the Cortisol I think I add something after the Cortisol, but I cannot remember. I will look at my schedule later and tell you. On the first day of my period, I start taking natural progesterone. I take that from day 15 (which i the first day of my period) to day 28. The docs there say that people who have normal functioning hormones should not have PMS, cramps, bloating, etc. The goal is to get 100% free of those symptoms, have regular cycles, etc. Then about 12 days from now, I will start a three month course of Nystatin, along with the candida diet. They wait for you to start it because of die-off symptoms. They want to make sure that if you get any, what you are getting is in fact die-off and not a reaction from the supps. Makes sense, though I wish I could start it now. But they are right, slow but steady, not fast and pushing your limits. They also give you something to help if you get die-off. Again, all natural and helps immensely. After being a while on the Nystatin, they do a two week course of Diflucan to work on any localized vaginal out of control yeasta. During the candida part, I will be taking large doses of their Megadopholis also to help recolonize as the other stuff is being killed off. They feel it is imperative to do the probiotics while you're doing the cleansing, not waiting until after you're finished.
That's about it. It sounds like a lot, but as issues resolve, you take less and less stuff. It is a bit ovewhelming at first, as Aggie said the same thing and now I'm just learning to adjust. I think a lot of it is, you have to be really ready to make the dedication and change. As the doc said, after three months, if you want, you can take the chance and cheat, but if you have symptoms again, it's back on the diet and possibly the Nystatin. The good thing about Nystatin is that it doesn't get into your blood, so you don't have to worry about liver issues while cleansing. He said that many people choose to follow either the diet or a modified version of the diet for the rest of their lives, as it's not worth risking getting sick again. It's all personal choice and what your body can handle. The great thing about their diet is, if all goes well, you can have certain fruits after the first initial two weeks of the diet, which helps a lot, when you are running out of choices. They also recommend rotation of the foods and you are allowed to have organic peanus butter as well, as long as you are not allergic to it.
Lastly, they do extensive allergy testing on you. I am allergic to a host of things I know, which is why I've been having so mnay breathing issues lately. Once they get your labs back on the allergy results, they send the results to a compounding herblist who makes up a concoction specifically to your allergy needs. They are drops that are taken under the tongue daily and again, is not a quick fix. It takes at least four months for your body to develop enough antigens to the things you are allergic to, so again, dedication to the protocol is essential. That is it. I hope this helped in some way. They are not cheap, but I'll tell you, I would have nearly sold everything I owned, if it meant me getting into them. Also, as Aggiespoke said, after your firt month's worth of supps., you can substitute most of them with the NOW brand, which is sold in most health food stores. It saves you a bundle monthly. That helps bring the cost down. If you have any more questions, please feel free to ask. I am very new at this so I may not have the answers, but Aggiespoke is nearly an expert at this now and it doing phenomenally at it! She says she is soooo much better now. Talk to you soon.

Hi, I have the same symtoms and I have a horrible candida infection in my body- including my lungs. I have had bronchitis for some time now from smoking which I fortunately don't do anymore. My bronchitis has been acting up more recently when I eat things that I am allergic to. I am guessing that it is causing my bronchial tubes to inflame. The next day my lungs feel fine and I don't have this issue if I avoid allergens. My TB test came back negative and I am much relieved. ANYWAYS.. I was hoping that someone has had experience using colloidal silver with a nebulizer for relief of bronchitis? It is supposed to kill all infection and boost your immune system.
What you are experiencing is what every toxic mold exposure patient experiences from breathing in mold spores. Yeast mold spores in your environment lead to candida in the body. Candida in the body lead to yeast mold spores in your breathing environment. They feed each other. When you have the mold in your lungs you exhale mold spores with each breath. Someone next to you for a long period of time, beathing in the mold spores you are exhaling, can be affected to one degree or another.
I have been to toxic mold trials where mold exposure patients who are sensitized to small amounts of mold react as a result of breathing in mold spores exhaled by other mold exposure patients sitting next to them for only a few hours. If a person has bad breath this is because of bacteria and/ or fungi in some form in their mouth or respiratory system. When they breath out they are exhaling those bacterial or fungal spores, for other people around them to breath.
In the advertisements for tooth paste they usually use the term 'germs'. But, what they are talking about is bacterial or fungal microbes from either food rotting between the teeth or infection that resulted. When they have invaded the lungs and grown, their spores exhale with each breath.
The lungs provide ideal conditions for fungi to grow, especially in the areas not used as much as a result of taking shallow breaths. When we lose any capacity of our lungs due to the invasion of fungi the tendacy is to start taking shallower breaths. Not taking deep breaths prevents getting oxygen into those less used sections of the lungs, which is favorable for the further growth of the fungi.
Using the respiratory therapy technique of taking in as much air through your nose, and then additional through your mouth, holding it for 5-10 seconds, then exhaling all the air first through the mouth and then trough the nose untill all the air is out, will help break the mold colonies loose from your lungs so you can cough them out.
One of the most effective therapies one might consider is hydrogen peroxide IV treatments. It is very effective for candida and mold in the lungs. This is also good for getting the tar and nicotine accumulations out of the lungs, so I have heard. Hydrogen peroxide therapies are effective against both bacteria and fungi since it is a sterilant. The forum on HP here is worth looking at.I have seen people I know kick the candida way down with only two treatments.
My apartment has been flooded 7 times within the last year due to accidents with plumbing. My case is based on the negligance towards repairs and my 3 yr old son being diagnosed with Bacterial Bronchitis. (I believe as a result of mold.)
He is now on breathing treatment along with 5 antibiotics and the carpet in my apartment has an incredibly horrible odor.
Once, the ENTIRE floor inside my apartment was flooded. Four times because of the toilet (there was a leak in the pipe). Then in the bathtub due to the breakage of c**k and the water not draining through the pipe but instead outside of the pipe. Resulting in my carpet again being wet. Also there had been water leaking from underneath the sink. All occurances due to plumbing were in the master bathroom. There was also a fire next door to my apartment and from the sprinklers my bedroom was again flooded. I understand accidents can occur although not only was the carpet NEVER REPLACED (after 7 floods) but once I was told they would come into my apartment on FRIDAY and clean my carpet. Yet it wasn't until the following WEDNESDAY when my carpet was cleaned with SHAMPOO. I believe after the reoccurance, mold has formed and has probably spread at least in some areas inside my apartment.
Does anyone have any advise? I am going to take this to court. I will get an inspector for detecting mold. And add that along with all my loss.
It is very important to determine whather the bronchitis is bacterial or fungal. What tests did they do to determine it was bacterial bronchitis? Unfortuneately most doctors are inadequately trained in mycology. So, they often incorrectly diagnose bacterial when it is actually fungal. Since most antibiotics are fungal based, the last thing you want to give a person who has a fungal condition is more fungi, like most antibiotics. Instead you need a probiotic of good bacteria to help restore the good bacterial flora to help restore the bacterial/fungal balance in the body.
I remember a story on the news one night about a family in Salem, Oregon who had a toxic mold exposure. The doctor had put them on antibiotics. The infant ended up on a heart lung machine. This should not be happening in this day and age. Doctors need to update their knowledge on how toxic mold affects the human body.
You have very obviously had a toxic mold exposure. By all knowledgeable resources, if building materials are not dried out within 24-48 hours, they WILL start growing mold on and in them. This includes carpeting, sheetrock and wood. If that carpet was not taken up and dried thoroughly underneath the carpet and the pad within 24-48 hours, YOU HAVE MOLD GROWING IN THEM and the flooring underneath. This is one of the main reasons rentals are terrible when it comes to mold problems.
As having had a toxic mold exposure, and a long time researcher on how toxic mold effects the human body, I can say without reservation that based on the info you presented here, you and your family are being affected by the mold in your apartment.I would say one or more of you are likely experiencing abnormal frequencies of headaches, breathing difficulties, rashes, memory/concentration problems, yeast infections, possibly fog brain which makes it hard to even think, and many other health issues so subtle they have been blamed on other more commonly accepted causations.
With most states the landlord/tennant laws are too weak to give you the protection you should have. And proving it caused the health problems is very difficult and expensive. But, at the same time you are now living in an unhealthy habitat. Feel free to email me and I will try to give you the information you need. If the bronchitis your son has is fungal from the mold exposure as I believe it is, the antibiotics will appear to help him at first. Then they will make him worse than ever, like they did me. There are a few doctors around the country who are mold knowledgeable. I am in the process of putting together a list of the mold knowledgeable doctors around the country.

I just wanted to post back as well since I haven't much since I started working with the Hotze Clinic in Houston. You mentioned you will be on 3 months of Nystatin...I am literally finishing my 3 mos. up this week! I feel so much better and stronger. Seeing that doc was the best investment we ever made. Yes, I said investment. :) It's not covered by insurance but when you get so severely sick you just want to die...paying out of pocket for care that REALLY addresses your issues is priceless.
I NEVER thought I would be one to follow a healthier eating plan. WHAT? You want me to not eat that yummy bread the restaurant brings before dinner? WHAT? You want me to cut out sodas? My first 30 days of no sugar/no yeast was a real turning point for me health wise. I started reading Mike Adam's website...www.healthranger.com and then went over to his news site...www.newstarget.com and literally read every single article he's ever posted or written. I began to make my own connections related to my health.
I went to the Hotze Clinic with the following complaints....candida, insomnia, no energy, severe, severe hormone imbalance - female and thyroid...I even told them I felt like my body was slowly dying...my body wasn't absoring nutrients (no matter how healthy I ate) but I gained 85 pounds in 2.5 years! OH...I also have PCOS, I don't ovulate and I have insulin resistance.

Yes, in fact when my lungs started detoxing, for about 2-3 months, I woke up several times a night gasping for breath, and had to go into the bathroom so as not to disturb by husband because I would just cough and cough and try to catch my breath, all the while this white foamy metallic tasting stuff was spewing from my lungs. I would have to sit on the edge of the toilet, taking puff after puff of my rescue inhaler, just to get to the point where I could breathe well enough to get back to bed. Only to get up a couple hours later to do the same thing all over again. It was hell. But, I lived through it. These days, I may get a slight, but only slight return of symptoms when I have a candida flare.
