So today is day 6 for me and I'm feeling pretty good. I've been on vacation the past week, hence I thought it would be a good time to start the cleanse, so I've been hanging around the house in t-shirts and sweats. Today I had to go back to work and wear "real clothes" and I was really looking forward to my clothes fitting better like many have reported--I don't own a scale so I have no idea if I've lost any weight--but unfortunately my clothes aren't fitting any better, in fact my tummy looks a bit more pouchier?? I'm hoping I'm just overreacting and I'm not in it for weight loss, but I was hoping to benefit from this side effect. I'm also only on day 6 and I've heard sometimes cleansing doesn't really start till the last part of the 10 days. I guess I'm just hoping that someone's had similar experience and some words of hope!!
I am just coming off a 10 day MC. As a matter of fact, I'm drinking fresh squeezed orange juice as I type. At first, I think I really was doing the MC for weight loss. I tried to convince myself that I was doing it for the cleansing, but my teen-age son kept telling me that I was doing it to lose weight. I finally caved in and admitted that losing weight was the real reason I was doing the MC. I had talked to so many people about the MC and how much weight they had lost. After finding out about this forum, I had to reevaluate why I was doing this MC. There are so many supporters on this forum and they just encourage you so much to think about the real purpose of the MC. I believe I may have lost a few pounds during the initial part of the MC. I wasn't drinking enough water (1/2 your body weight) and I still couldn't manage to drink but 6 lemonades the entire day. As time progressed, I checked my weight every two days and I had started losing some pounds. After 10 days, I lost 7 pounds, but I know I have increased my will power to eat right and probably do a weight loss fast. I also learned to drink plenty of water. I never really used to drink that much water. So I say stay encouraged and just realize the real purpose of the MC is about. We must change our eating and exercise habits if we want to lose weight. Check out some of the other forums such as the fasting for weight loss, etc. They are also good.
I have been cleansing for almost three years now and generally don't notice any real weight loss until the 7th day or more. Some cleanses I have lost well over a pound a day and some much less. Know that your body is benefiting regardless of weightloss and when it is all said and done your body will function much better afterwards if you break properly and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
