  • can i separate mc ingredients? by  #67857  6 year  1,804  Master Cleanse Supp
i have tried the mc before. i was so excited about a "master" cleanse. i couldn't wait to reap the benefits of the cleanse, help with sleep, fatigue, skin, headaches, etc. then i tried my first sip of the lemonade. BLECHK! i was lucky to make it to day two!
but what if i try it differently? what if i drink the water with the lemon juice, take the syrup separately and take the cayenne in capsules?
    could this work?
i drink water like this all the time!
i could stomach the syrup a few times a day.
the cayenne would be easy in capsule form!

does anyone have any insight for me?
i REALLY want this to work!!!!

    thanks!

"i REALLY want this to work!!!!"

Do you REALLY?? Then just suck it up and do it by the book.

Are you using fresh squeezed lemon juice?

What are the amounts in your recipe?

      On the cayenne caps

yes, pepe, i REALLY want this to work. but if i am gagging while drinking the mix slowly, and puking while trying to drink it down all at once, i am guessing that not many people would be able to continue past day 5. while i appreciate your reply, please understand that not everyone has high tolerances to unappealing tastes. i love raw spinach. love, love, love it. cook it, and i literally can't get it down!
i would love to be able to suck it up and get on with it, and even more, i would love to be one who actually feels refreshed by the lemonade, but unfortunately, i'm not.

is it possible that it could work by breaking the ingredients down and ingesting them separately.

        thanks.

Well the Syrup is not part of the cleansing ingredients. It is for nutritional support providing carbs and minerals so you can function in your daily life. You can also do Black Strap molasses but if you gag on the syrup god knows what you'll do with the molasses. If you want to remain active while cleansing the the syrup or the BSM are important. I don't see why you couldn't do them separate.

The link I sent you on the caps pretty much gives you the run down and it includes a coupla methods either with the caps and also doing a shot of the lemonade with the cayenne then chasing it down with the rest of the lemonade. You can also work your way up gradually with the cayenne. On my first MC I thought I would never be able to drink this hot drink for a full day at a time but I "sucked it up" and pressed on. Withing 3 days my palate adapted and I was fine and in a weeks time I even started adding more. Now I and many of the experienced MCers do at least 1/4 tsp of cayenne and not the regular grocery store weak junk but the 90,000 HU  hot stuff. Cayenne is an essential ingredient in the lemonade.

You also didn't answer regarding if you were using fresh juice. I got caught out one time having forgoten the lemonade casue I left the house in a hurry and stopped and at Whole Foods and bought some of the organic Santa Cruz bottled juice just to make do till I got home that evening. The bottled stuff in nutritionally devoid on the live enzymes because it has to be pasturized by law. Most of the nutritional value is also lost. In addition after drinking fresh squezed lemon juice for a coupla weeks this bottled stuff tasted like battery acid.

i do use the fresh squeezed stuff. i buy the organic lemons at our local chamberlains. i saw the thread on the cayenne, but will have to revisit it. its strange. i LOVE spicy food. although i am a pastry chef, whole foods recently picked up my organic salsa and will hopefully have it on the shelves at the end of the summer. so spicy is my thing. i think that the combination of the lemons with the syrup is what throws me off. and add the cayenne and it is intolerable. its not so much the spice as it is the flavor. each ingredient on its own, not so bad. as a concoction to drink once, maybe, but 6-12 times a day, i really can't do it. but, again, i can see the benefits that i will get from the mc and i do want to make this work. i know that it won't work if i have to drink the lemonade as a whole, but i feel certain that i can make it work separating the ingredients.
thanks so much for all the help you have been, to me and to others. this is quite intimidating and any and all help and support is so welcomed!!!
            thanks!

It's only intimidating if you think it is. Fasting is really not as big a deal as people make it. You'll see ;+D

Cool with your Whole Food deal. Are you dealing with them on the local level or nation wide? Though they are a national organization a lot is done at the independent local level. If it goes national that could be a big hit for you as they have 194 stores nation wide and they're now in the UK and Japan!!.

I am actually dealing with Whole Foods at the moment at the local level here in Atlanta. They are displaying my artwork at one store and there are 5 other stores here in the area that I will be approaching with the help and endorsement of the local store marketing person. The art work has been a pretty big hit at the local store.  I'm going to keep persuing it locally and hopefully (crossing fingers) go national. Below is a pix of my artwork on display at the store entrance atrium. They even provided a tent for me to set up on the parking lot on Sundays to sell my art.

are they the best company or what? they are incredible at how they help the locals! it amazes me every time i think of it!
as far as my salsa goes, we are going to be local at first (we have one store and one due open in march), but the buyer mentioned going statewide as well! i'm not in a hurry to grow my business. i want to do it right, keep it small and work out all of the kinks and work my way bigger. we'll see! right now, finding suppliers is my major hurdle. organic ingredients aren't as readily available in florida as they are in other areas of the country. and i would like to keep it local. and... THE RED TAPE!!!! organic ain't no joke. to get certified usda is a major deal and then getting all of the nutrional values tested, needless to say, i have my work cut out for me.
your art, by the way, is incredible! you should be so proud to have it in the stores. and you should (if you don't already) get a website to sell it that way too!
                good luck to you!
tomorrow i start my master cleanse.
i'm going to take it one day at a time. i will try the drink all combined after day 3 and every day thereafter. i am sure i can do it this time!!!!
                thanks for your support!

You CAN do it!! Just don't make a big deal out of it and it won't be. The one thing that I will definetely tell you is that if you are a caffeind coffee and or sodas you definetely want wean off the caffeine or you can get some wicked headaches from caffeine withdrawal. If you do the max 12 lemonade a day you be doing 1200 calories which aint exactly starving. if you haven't read the book do an online search for "Master Cleanse PDF". The first 3 days are ususally the roughest so I always tell folks that it's best to strat like on a Friday or when you know that you won't have many comittments for the 1st 3 days.

The local folks from my Whole foods have been really nice to me though it did take me like 3 or 4 months before I got they got the coorporate approval to display my work. At my store on saturdays they have a little farmers market kinda thing going where some of the local growers sell their stuff and they aslo buy a lot of local organic produce from the locals to sell at the store.

Sometimes to hook up with a big chain you gotta jump through a lot of hoops and also with any prepared food goods particularly organic there are even more hoops. Each business has a process and the less a big deal we make of it the easier it gets and the less frayed nerves. It does wear on my patience though..................

I've got all my promotional ducks in a row. E-commerce ready website, promotional cards, bio schpeil, mission statements etc so I'm just pounding the pavement and Whole Foods is one of the first doors to open. You can czech out my website were you can see/buy my artwork at.

I read somewhere on here to try mixing the syrup/CP with a tiny bit of water (maybe a tsp or tbs) and then mix your 2 Tbsp. of lemon juice with water and take it like a shooter. Drink the syrup mixture in one big gulp and then immediately chug down the lemon/water.

While it's not by the book and maybe I lost some of the benefits of the cleanse, it was the only way I could drink the drink for the first few days. On day four though, I tried the regular drink again and it went down okay..now I'm on day eight and I actually like it.

        Good luck!

how many times do you take the "shooters"?
this seems like something i think i could do! i would think that if you're getting all of the ingredients it would work, but obviously i'm not an expert since i have yet to get through day 2! i wonder if there is a reason that the ingredients should be mixed?
          thanks again!

I'm only on day eight of my first cleanse so I can't offer much "technical" advice. Maybe someone else will still respond about why they shouldn't be separated. My common sense said drink them one after another in hopes that they'd get all mixed up in my stomach....

Anyhow, I've drank anywhere from 6-8 drinks a day...my husband, who is doing this with me, drinks 10-12 (6 is the minimum and 12 is the max according the Stanley Burroughs book).

You can do it! And, maybe like me, you'll grow to actually enjoy the drinks...I'm sipping on one right now.

              sipping!!!!
i can only hope! i would love to be one of those people who can do it for 40 days!!!
i found The Master Cleanse after looking for a remedy to my insomnia. after research, i found people who had help with their add, headaches, even muscular aches and pains! not even to mention all of the great things that it does for your organs and digestion!
i really hope to get over the proverbial "hump" and be able to do at least 10 days, and maybe even 20!
thanks so much! i will keep you updated.

The thing to keep in mind that the MC or any of the cleanses  do not CURE anything. It is just a tool to help clean out some of the accumulated toxins in your system. Also 10 days is just the >minimum< so don't expect any miracles. The system is not fully adapted to fasting till around 2 weeks of fasting. After that is when the real cleansing at the cellular level "begins".

The actual "healing" happens >after< in the rebuilding faze with the nutrition that you put back in the system. If you go back to the same old habits and eating the same things, not drinking enough water daily, not exercising etc. All benefits will be lost.

THAT is exactly right and my other cross to bear. my job lends itself to unhealthy eating habits. i haven't been exercising as i should. i know i need to make a change and i figure if i can last through a master cleanse, i certainly can make it to the gym for an hour or two and go for a walk on the days that i can't make it to the gym! i know that i need to incorporate more healthy eating habits into my daily routine. i have 3 girls and i want them to make good healthy choices too!

The absolute best way to teach is by example so use your girls as motivation to toe the line. The best single thing you can do for your and your girls health is to buy a juicer and start juicing veggies daily.

In one glass of juice you can get the nutritinal equivalent of eating 15 20 lbs of veggies. The system has to turn everything into juice in order to absorb the nutrients so when you juice you have already done like 85- 90% of the digestion and your system can just absorb all that nutrition with very little work.

I have owned a Champion since the mid 70's and I bought it used then. When I had to replace a part a coupla years ago I found that my juicer was built around 1959!! and that thing is still cranking as strong as ever. They are true work hoses specially when juicing for several people at one time. They have few moving parts and the design is virtually unchanged all these years. It's got a huge industrial sized  motor that just won't quit. With the solid blank instead of the screen it can be used for making nut butter so that might appeal to you as a pastry person.

I would stay away from the centrifugal types when juicing for more than 2 people as the basket will fill and you would hafta change it around too much. The newer twin auger types that are multi purpose where you can juice grasses like wheat grass and also veggies are supposed to be nice but they are much slower than the Champion and some can cost twice as much.

Since the Champion has been around for so long you can find quite a number of them used on Ebay. A friend just picked up one for $110 including shipping. They can be bought new in the $175-$200 ranges. I can find it local where I live for $199 and with the cheaper prices that you can get on the net by the time you add shipping you're not saving a heck of alot.

      This MIGHT help...

Try using a straw and literally "sucking it up" as fast as you can. I use a straw (not for taste but because excessive lemon consumption hurts my teeth) and I can't even taste it going down.

      Good luck!
