about 2 weeks ago i had a dream that freaked me out BADLY and i am still bothered by it.
this is very long, i've never posted anything in any forum and im not exactly sure how these things go but im seeing all kinds of meanings for worms in dreams and along with the fact that i havent been feeling well lately, (my insomnia has gotten to the point of ridiculous, i cant lose weight and i am sooo easily tired and fatigued i cant even enjoy my children.) i am a person with really bad anxiety (i am a nailbiter and everything...) i need to know if there could be anything to it or if it was just a freaky nightmare...)
it starts off with my husband and i at the county fair one night, he is sitting across from me and we are in a sort of a corner of a tent. in the dream i felt like something was under my skin (i could feel it!) directly in the middle of my forehead lying horizontally. it was small about the size of a toothpick but you could see that my skin was raised. i told my husband to look at it and he was very calm almost laughing it off saying "yeah, you have a wicket." i asked what that was and he said it was a worm that got under my skin because i washed my face with a sponge with bamboo on it and the "wicket" came from the bamboo. because i could FEEL it i kinda freaked out and told him "well kill it!". he poked my forehead with his fingernail (to cut the worm underneath in half) but it didnt die, it started crawling really fast and was getting a little bigger, my husband kept trying to cut it with his fingernail as it crawled down my face but he couldnt catch it and the times he did hit it, it didnt die. it circled my entire face twice (counterclockwise) but it was under such a thin layer of skin that after the second time it was so big that it popped out on its own. it seemed to die right after it broke through the skin and my husband pulled the rest out. it was a metallic black sort of color and by the time it came out it was about the size of a pencil and perfectly straight like it was just a normal stick. i was crying and touching the track marks / thin layer of raised skin and it hurt to the touch. i told my husband to feel it and when he did i could feel the pain (i have sunburn at the moment and it felt somewhat but worse than this).
then he and i went walking around and people were asking what happened to my face and as i was telling someone at some point everyone started running and screaming and i heard someone yelling that there was an outbreak of these worms. not wanting to get them again my husband and i ran to a car and started speeding to the hospital before anyone else could get there. when we got there we were taken to a room that had 2 incubator-like beds that were too small and we had to bend our knees when lying down to fit in. the room was very bright, like we were in a skyscraper type building and 3 out of the 4 walls were made up of giant windows so we could see everything outside. later the person in the room wasnt my husband it was a friend (i dont know who, but a female) and she and i both didnt have any worms yet but just in case we got into the beds and put on the oxygen masks. then i could feel the pain in my arms and thought oh no not again. i looked at my forearm and could see one getting bigger and bigger, i cut a little slit at one of the ends of the worm and clenched my fist so that my muscle in my forearm would push it out. again, it died as soon as it hit air and i pulled it out and again it became a straight metallic black stick. this happened a few more times, they came one at a time and everytime i'd cut a slit and clench my fist to let it out, or just pull it out if it was in other parts of my arm. the worms hurt but when i cut the little slits to let them out there was no pain with the cut, only relief. one by one they kept coming in both arms, and some were higher up but below the shoulder and i also got some in the backs of my legs above and below the knee and in the front of my thighs as well. i laid each one in a neat pile on my bed on the side of me right after i pulled it out.
this lasted for a several hours until suddenly they just stopped coming and i knew i got them all out. it was like being in labor where you have a pain every minute for several hours and you cant stop it from coming. when my episode was over i helped my friend get hers out whenever she'd get one. then, after they stopped coming in both of us the 1 wall out of the room that was an actual wall seemed to disappear and the room it opened to was like a large hospital waiting room and there were all of my family and friends smiling and happy that i was ok, and i was happy to see them. the first person i noticed and ran to hug was my husband and my kids were with him (i have a 4 yr old, 2 yr old and 4 month old) but they were a blur. i showed everyone my scars and they were still very raw and fresh and sore to the touch and they were all over my arms and legs.
after that i had another nightmare but i cant remember what it was about and i woke up just feeling grossed out and remembering those burning sort of tingling pains i was getting up my arms and legs from the "wickets". but the part that creeps me out the most was the worm crawling in circles around my face and the scars that it left.
i will feel a lot better if someone out there can help me figure out why i would have a dream like this (i know a lot of my dreams come from things that happen that day or movies i saw but this came out of nowhere)...i know i am being paranoid but after reading all of the negative things that "worm" dreams could possibly signify, including a warning of bad health maybe even cancer, my paranoid side is taking over and anything anyone can think of would be much appreciated.
Hi! I can't tell u what your dream means, but I can throw some ideas at you.
Since the dream involves your husband and him trying to help you by "poking"
at the worm, I would say that he is part of the theme of this dream. Later it concerns
a female friend who also has these worms. What I would do is try and see if u can find
any connection between your friend and your husband. Say this friend has a great
sense of humor, but when your husband uses humor you feel he's making fun of you.
Understand this is just an example. I DO NOT KNOW WHAT THE WORMS REPRESENT,
ONLY YOU CAN DECIDE THAT. But think about this dream. Think about the tent.
Does it remind u of any real event you can remember? Think about hospitals and
how you feel about them. The MOST IMPORTANT THING IS YOU ARE VICTORIOUS
OVER THE WORM(S). THAT'S WHAT REALLY COUNTS. I also reccommend going to
dreammoods.com, use their dictionary and look up "worms". It may help you get
an idea of what you're feeling on a more subconsciense level, it maybe totally wrong.

hey there margie i am really sorry that it took me so long to write back to you but i finally got around to coming back on this curezone thing and i wanted to make sure to tell you thanks for your help!!! i am still unsure of what the dream means but i did remember what my second nightmare after that one was lol. it had to do with 3 spiders on my wall and they were hard to kill but i got the job done in the end lol..im terrified of big spiders..and i have nightmares of them once in awhile. but i am rambling here, i really just wanted you to know that i truly appreciate you trying to help me out and i havent really figured it out but i think that the dream does sort of revolve around my husband as you said was a possibility. thanks again and take care!!
