Hi Thefarm, Besides weighing yourself also take your waist measurement. See if there is a reduction. Your initial weight loss is most probably due to loss of fluid (water) from your body. Usually happens at the beginning of a cleanse. Do not mix veggies and fruits when juicing. Drink only one 8oz glass of diluted fruit juice twice a day, once in the morning then a second one in the afternoon. Enrich your vegetable broth with potassium by ...

There is a lot of trial and error and misinformation. Foods do heal. Alkaline foods buffer the acids that cause disease. Sometimes the disease gets to the point of being difficult to heal like arthritis in which case drastic food action needs to be taken such as a juice fast. You have to also consider that the produce we get today is not usually fresh, was picked green, and may not have been grown in rich soil (very likely). Hence the produce we have available to us is highly inferior to the produce you could get if you were growing it all in your own garden in composted soil, picking it when ripe, and eating it fresh. I agree that you should do both. I will created a green juice (I always add apple or carrots to sweeten it and make it palatable) and then pop it in the blender and add some solid greens (kale) and blueberries, or somesuch. I have a friend, very traditional medical model, who will have his colon completely removed on Tuesday. When I met him almost 3 years ago, all he thought about was his cancer returning (prostate and colon) and dying. I distracted him with dancing, but didn’t impact him too much with alternative health information. Anyway, his colon will be completely removed on Tuesday. He only weighs 140 pounds and what I am hearing is he will now only be able to eat crappy food (white bread, etc., no fruits and vegetables. I’m concerned about nutrition and his survival. Well it definitely seems like you are going in the right direction and losing the inches off your waist means that you are making progress regardless of what the scale says. In clinical studies, fruit juice (even freshly juiced) is processed by the body exactly the same as sugar or glucose. In fact, fruit sugar (fructose) and glucose have the same molecular formula. ...

Last year I had an awfull time losing weight. No matter what I did I kept gaining. I got to a certian point of obesity where the weight just went out of control. I couldn’t figure out why. ... ... No one here has addressed the fact that you could be hypothyroid. This condition creates weight gain that is resistant. There are other symptoms too... fatigue, hair loss, eyebrows that thin or become non-existant on the outside 1/3, dry skin... to name a few. You may want to look into having a test to see if your thyroid is functioning well. If it is, and you are still not losing weight, then look into a diet that does not have ANY processed foods. No dairy. No soy. That pretty much takes a lot of things out of your vegan diet. Veganism sounds good, but much of what is eaten is proces ...
