A good wholesome diet and quality vitamin and mineral supplement might help some. When I say good quality, if that is all you plan to do for now, organic whole food liquid vitamin and sea minerals is a good place to start. Synthetic vitamins from the drug store are crap, and now research is showing they just load the body with metals, calcify the systems, and make your health worse in the long run. Google can be your best friend right now, in addition to the advice of all the members on this forum who have experience in health matters. Good Luck to you, hope you feel better soon! [End]

I purchase most of my vitamins from GNC or Solar or Nature Bounty but I have never heard of ”vitamins that load the body with metals”, there are always schools that are against the usage of vitamins because there is no evidence of their benefit (beside on their opinion) nevertheless they are the same people who work in drug store business. Yes, you need to find the cause, could from candida placing a burden on the immune system and the body as a whole or could be from other imbalances in the body. The most common cause of hair loss is a stressed nervous system. You say your diet is good, but that could really mean anything, depending on the person, a low-carb diet can cause these symptoms, did you always have this problem or did it start after taking certain herbs or following a certain diet? Catabolism of muscle tissue.....I wonder if that is the cause behind my facial wasting. I have indentations all over my face - ranging from the size of the head of a pin, to several inches long. I’ve had them for probably 10 years or more. Since my AF has been so bad lately, it’s definitely gotten worse. Just last night I noticed a new round one the size of a nickel on my cheek and about an inch long line on my forehead. Biopsies have been negative for lupus and scleroderma. I’ve seen about 14 different derms and no one knows what it is, or what is causing it. [End]

Hey all! ... This is the first time I’m posting here. I’ve followed the forums for the past few months, but have never written anything myself as of yet. I’m kind of going through a crazy phase where I’m just out-of-my-mind concerned over my health issues. I recently did a stool/saliva test for candida and my doctor said it was non-reactive, and that he suspects it may just be leaky gut. He also confirmed several food allergies (gluten, dairy, etc). Hello, I am writing to you today because I do not know what to do anymore! My whole problem started early october when I crashed my car and went under a lot of stress. I had to ride my street bike to school but didn’t have a helmet so I went ahead and asked a friend, and he gave me one of his extra. Turns out that helmet had been sitting in the garage for a while and been used by at LEAST 4 other people. About two weeks went by and I started noticing my hair falling out in the shower, then it started turning into scalp pain and sensitivity as the week went by (my hair is pretty short). I s ...

When my scalp itching was at its worst, I put borax and cheap liquid clothes detergent into my bath and soaked in it for 30 minutes as hot as I could, keeping my hair underwater as much as possible. I did this every night for a week, and it stopped the itching. Also, I would put coconut oil on my scalp and put a shower cap on and leave it for about 3 or 4 hours, then wash it out with Sulfur 8 shampoo. It takes awhile to get rid of them, because they are laying eggs all the time. You have to treat constantly for up to a month to get all the eggs as they hatch. [End]

These are most likely demodex. The previous replies gave great tips. They are incredibly hard to eradicate, but if you feel them moving they are mating on the surface and not hiding in follicle. Get a half gallon jug and add 32 oz of distilled water and a cup of borax at least. Put enough borax to over-saturate/not dissolve any more, then add 16 oz of H2O2 3% and shake well. After showering, pour the mixture slowly over head, scalp, torso and extremities, Do NOT dry off with towel or anything but moving air. Leave it on a good while to soak into skin and scalp. I have had this problem many different times over the years. I went to see my Dr. about the hair loss a few times and he told me that ”seasonal” hair loss is a normal occurance. He turned out to be correct as the hair loss has always stopped and grew back. I don’t know how long you have been dealing with this but if it has only been a month or two maybe thats what is going on? As far as Candida goes, I’m no expert but from what i have read over the years I fully believe that could also be a cause. A natural Candida cleanse seems like a good course of action. [End]

In my experience, hair loss is due to candida overgrowth. I had a massive parasites infestation, and they just didn’t produce that symptom. But I also noticed that hair loss was much more important when I was cleaning my liver and releasing toxic materials and bile. Dark circles under eyes are definitly related to a toxic liver, often due to candida and/or parasites [End]

Hi. Kcirla is right. Hair loss can be related to candida as the toxins attack the hair folicles and try to get out of the body anyway they can. Any antifungals or antimicrobials can temporarily make the hair loss even worse until your body begins to clear toxins. Its scary but I can reassure you that it does grow back (I have even lost big patches of hair...I still have bald patches but its slowly growing back). Its not only the candida toxins that can make hair shed but nutrient deficiency too. Check your iron levels which can be low with candida overgrowth and also your thyroid to rule o ...

Hi there, ... ... The main reason that hair loss occurs is due to the central nervous system being stressed. Candida, parasites, bacterial infections of any type will all stress the central nervous system. Any diet that puts your body into a state of ketosis (such as low-carb or fruitarian or 100% raw) will also stress the central nervous system and most people should avoid these. Candida die-off will surely put stress on the CNS and you can experience large amounts of hair loss when taking anti-fungals. [End]

I have been shedding more hair the last few years. I am on synthroid. Not sure if this is the cause, but what stopped it for me was 50MG a day of Iodoral. I’ve been using Iodoral for nearly a year at smaller doses, but when I hit the 50MG dose is when I noticed it had totally stopped. I barely shed a hair anymore! Hmm cant edit my text for some reason. My theory is that if you are healthy you dont need truckloads of iodine. Yes iodine defiency might trigger hashimoto’s but there has to be reason for defiency. In Western countrys these days should not have iodine defiency. So i think it has to do something with glutein in most cases. My skin is also much less oily and dry. ... ... However, the hair shedding, which has been a normal occurrence to the point where I have a permanent thinness (as well as premature graying), has rapidly sped up. I can do a light pinch anywhere on my scalp, eyebrows, eyelashes, face etc. and lose several hairs. T ...

I found some articles that say molasses actually helps prevent hair loss: ... ... http://www.naturalnews.com/028378_balding_hair_growth.html ... ... You mentioned you have hormonal abnormailities. I am wondering if in your case, the molasses is affecting your hormones. I have read that it does have an effect on hormones. There are some options: ... ... - Why dont you discontinue use of the molasses and see if that helps. If that works, there are other remedies that help with reducing swelling. ... ... - You could also try using a natural DHT blocker to help with the hair loss before it gets any thinner. ... ... ...

Originally, I tried the molasses for probably 7 days and then just stopped (for no reason in particular). Around this same time I was using hydrocortisone cream for skin problems and attributed the reduction in swelling and other improvements to that. However, the problems came back despite using the cream. One day, about 7ish days later as I said, I again started putting the molasses in my coffee and this is when I noticed the correlation because the swelling stopped again that very day. ... ... Anyway, it’s been days since the first message and it seems the hair shedding is slowly calming dow ...

Sounds thyroid related. Maybe there was gluten in it which caused a hashi attack? [End]

I don’t know anything about gluten. There has never been any swelling in my neck or anything. The hair shedding is still going on a month and half later. I actually shaved my head because of it. When I was washing my scalp afterward my fingernails were full of skin and oil. I can’t imagine how one could get that off the scalp with any hair. [End]

I believe I have a fungal infection on my scalp as it is very dry, itchy and my hair is falling out. I have been using tea tree oil and lavender and it has helped but not completely. I hear borax is very good to use as a shampoo for fungal infections. Can I use the store bought stuff 20 Mule Team Brand or do I have to buy something else, is this brand safe to use on scalp and what if I get borax in my eyes? It has a warning not to get in the eyes. Please let me know. ... ... Thank you [End]

I’ve been using the 20 Mule Train borax for months now. It takes a little getting used to but works fine. I massage the borax water onto my scalp with my fingertips (firmly but not too hard and vigorously), wash my body, then rinse my hair and body. Works like a charm and it’s so much cheaper than shampoos, plus no chemicals. [End]

... I LOVE it for my hair. If it matters, I am an African-American female with thick, curly hair....when wet! Anyway....I actually took it a step further by mixing apple cider vinegar with the 20 Mule Team Borax, and leaving it on my hair for a good 30 minutes before washing. When done, rinsed with apple cider vinegar and cold water (to close the hair shafts), it was fabulous. No soap, no chemicals...pure clean! You may have to add a pinch of conditioner after you wash....as it may not be as silky as you like it when normally done washing...but, I only used a tad bit...once. Either way ...

I used this on Hulda Regher Clark’s suggestion way back in the 1990’s. Personally, Mule Team did nothing for my hair. I had to go back to shampoo’s because what happened was the stuff would crumble in my hair and was hard to get out. My hair became extremely tangled, and i had loads and loads of dandruff left in it. I doubt it will even touch your fungal infection. [End]

I tried borax too. A teaspoon in warm glass of water to massage into the hair while bathing. I did this a month, and it helped on whatever it was of infection i had on top.
