Hey there! ... ... I will suggest that you do not break your fast until your body heals itself. This tooth ache can be a way your body is expelling the toxins it has inside.. Water needs vary on a fast vary from person to person, but a generally accurate guide by many is to drink according to thirst, and thirst only. Excess water only serves to overload the kidneys and inhibits if not prevents detox altogether. Quite a bit of our water needs on a fast are met by the breakdown of adipose tissue, where much water is stored. Any excess though is seen as harmful, whether this be food (obesity) or air (hyperventilation) or whatever. ... Well done on your fast, and I hope you feel all the better for it. ... ... Chrisb1. I would definitely avoid any type of shampoos, conditioners, lotions, any chemical type of products, I am almost certain that this is what caused the problems while you were in the shower. Have you seen any benefits yet? ... ... I am such a baby - I struggle the entire time I fast. My longest if over 4 days. I hope to fast until down to a good running weight. I ended my fast several days ago in the middle of day 19. My first three days of refeeding were uneventful. Started out with three oz. of papaya every two hours on day one; four oz. of cantaloupe every three hours day two and moved on to steamed zucchini day three. It’s day four that I started fouling up. I was trying to be mindful of advice a fasting doctor gave me to ensure that I be fully out of ketosis before introducing any protein into my diet. Well I had used a ketone stick that morning to test my urine and it showed that I was no longer in ketosis (have learned since that those sti ...

PM Kate 1960, ... ... I understand how hard the refeeding process can be and that’s always something I struggle with even days before my fast ends (fearful of how I’m going to eat and how prepared my fridge will be) I havent suffered from edema but my gut has been distended bfore after over-eating and my legs and ankles have been swollen as well. My advice, if you can, try to go back to the liquid form. I normally try to do it for about half the time i fasted and then start to put in solid vegetables and fruit. typically, I don’t add protein until the same amount of time has been passed that i ...

Hey Kate, ... ... As you know from my previous posts during your fast, I feel that you had fasted longer than optimal for your body. I know that you and many people on this forum believe that there is no such thing as fasting too long, but I really do believe it depends on the person and some people can actually become less healthy by fasting longer than their body is ready for. Yes, you did make a mistake in your re-feeding but I believe the main factor in the symptoms you are experiencing is that your body is under an enormous amount of stress and your digestion and organs of elimination ha ...

I posted my experience on another forum that has a doctor on the board to answer questions. Don’t know if he’s right, but he thinks I had an allergic reaction to at least one of the food items. Hey Kate, yes the eastern way of thinking about how the body works is much different than what western nutrition understands it is also much different than modern homeopathy, but the more I learn about it, the more it seems that they were really on to something. I believe it is worth checking out for any avid faster or anyone trying to improve their health. A trained ayurvedic doctor will take your pulse and can tell you exactly when to fast and when to not fast by diagnosing what is going on with your body, mainly the nervous system and endocrine system. hey burge, so sorry for what you went through, but I think it’s expected...you were out and in a crowded place no less, no fresh air, it was a bad moment, that’s all, just rest as much as you can and don’t give up, unless it gets unbearable, or you can’t keep water down...but even if you do switch to juice, you will still lose tons of weight if you have more vegetable and less fruit types of juice...anyway I hope you feel better...:) [End]
