Why? Watching that video would have answered it for you. As I said, I have had some experience with fasting I have never said anything about it not working for me, so I am confused at your comment that it ’doesnt seem to be working well for my health goals’. They certainly weren’t doing fasting for the right reasons and since they both were coming from eating disorder backgrounds, I think that’s why they tend to be more anti-fasting to try not to promote quick fixes that end up backfiring more than not in the end. However I’m not sure how appropriate it is to give dietary advice, and advise against fasting on a water fasting forum, in response to a request for water fasting advice. I have never fasted while being thin enough to have to consider it a factor, but if it does end up that water-fasting is too much for your body right now, consider doing green juices - lots of anti-inflammatory, cleansing stuff in green juices, lots of good nutrients, too - your body should be able to cleanse and repair on green juice, too. The reason why I ask is because during my past several WF’s, I would ease into eating again and I do it very slowly. I noticed during the first few days of re-feeding, I don’t feel hungry at all and it feels as though I’m still fasting. I dilute freshly squeezed juices and water. I think it really all depends on the person and how your body is functioning. I do think that some people are able to lose weight by water fasting and not gain it back, or at least maybe gain some back but remain at a lower weight than when you started. Generally, if the fast is going well for you, you feel good you are not constantly struggling with the overwhelming desire to eat while you are fasting, you don’t feel stressed or anxious (this is a big one), then it is very likely you will be able to keep a lot of the weight off. You could get whats called ”skinny fat”. Hi Susanina: You are certainly quite thin, so you must practice fasting with much caution. I didn’t reread the link I gave you so I guess they didn’t say anything about it. ... ... This is just my personal opinion. I don’t think breaking a 24 hr fast is a big deal as your digestive system hasn’t shut down completely, but maybe cut it some slack and go lightly. Soup, fruit, etc. ...   [End]

I grew up and still live in Alaska not much of anything is grown up here other than potatoes, carrots, some cabbage, heads of lettuce and pumpkins (mostly for size for the fair they get like 1,000lbs here from all the daylight) ohh and zucchini grow fantastic here thats about it no fruits other than some people can get strawberries to grow and of course berries salmonberries, blueberries, cranberries. So for much more of a variety i have to purchase food brought in from other places downstates. Alot of people here rely on red salmon, moose, caribou, goat and deer here for meat or halibut a ...   [retrieve this message]

Indeed. It seems like that’s the future. We have to start growing our food. Food forests, berry bush fences. Nettles to keep out bandits. I live in zone 5, so can’t grow my favourite lemon trees. I keep fantasizing over a pyramid-shaped greenhouse with three floors. third floor for the tropicals. ... :-) ... ... ... C ...   [End]

Ah, Alaska. ... ... Pumpkins! sounds great. I like them small and sauteed with the skin on. And berries...they would be like a ”superfood” for you, if they are local. I would be making a lot of cultured cabbage sauerkraut and kimchi in the fall. Quinoa, black beans, millet too is a really good seed/grain, as everything gets more expensive. ... ... ... C   [End]

They don’t sell the pumpkins they grow up here not that I’ve seen its all for show lol I haven’t planted any apple trees I travel to the big city to buy in bulk lol buttttt I should do some research to see if I could. I’ve had a garden z few years one year was great!! Potatoes, zucchini, lettuce, green onion, turnips, cucumber(in small greenhouse) carrots, snap peas ”tried” spinach nope but got some broccoli and cauliflower and a cpl small cabbages it was awesome!!! Next year :( a lot of rain and I had millions of slugs it was bad. This year is turning out bad I could maybe start this next ...   [retrieve this message]
