I was in sooo much pain last night now all of my teeth are effected :( still swelling on roof of mouth. If anyone knows what a tooth ache feels like imagine every one of your teeth aching, pulsing and radiating into your ear its really lame!!! Water needs vary on a fast vary from person to person, but a generally accurate guide by many is to drink according to thirst, and thirst only. Excess water only serves to overload the kidneys and inhibits if not prevents detox altogether. Quite a bit of our water needs on a fast are met by the breakdown of adipose tissue, where much water is stored. Any excess though is seen as harmful, whether this be food (obesity) or air (hyperventilation) or whatever. ... Well done on your fast, and I hope you feel all the better for it. ... ... Chrisb1. I’d like to do at least a 7 or 14 day fast but work, I am overweight and heard that overweight people have more energy while fasting? Anyone have any experience with this. I know in the past when I get to the 4th day I usually feel great it’s the first 3 days i feel awful. [End]

Hi ... ... In my experience it should be no problem, fasted multiple times with very physical work, and a shitload of people besides me. ... ... Only problem is the healing crisis, my last 16 day (juice) fast, i became just evil and psychopatic on day 10, i was thinking it sure was time to stop, an very big feeling of unease, just feeling down crazy and plain nuts, that is somewhat troublesome with many peoples besides/with you working. ... ... Today is day 4 of my water fasting and I still have spasms that are painful and annoying from the first day of water fasting. They are continuous throughout the day and it gets worse when I drink water. It feels like an icy/hot feeling, then like the esophagus contracting and relaxing multiple times which causes me some pain in the middle of my chest right where the sternum is. I have never had this feeling before and am wondering is this a detox symptom? I want to know if it will get better because I plan to continue for 26 more days. [End]

I’ve done plenty of 1 and 2 day water fasts but I’m new to trying a more long-term fast. I’m shooting for 21 days. I have been pretty lucky so far.. no hunger pangs really. I did have a bit of a headache yesterday, but I took a nap.. slept it off and I was fine. I know I’m not totally in the clear, but I’m prepared to deal with potential hunger/headaches in the next few days or so. Here is what I was not ready for.. I CANNOT stop thinking about food. Seriously. Every minute, it’s all I can think about. Any advice on the mental aspect of this? I’m trying to distract myself, but no luck real ...

So.. something kind of frightening happened to me tonight. I took a shower, but it was a little longer than usual because I was washing my hair. I don’t know if I was over exerting myself, but I have been bursting with energy today so I don’t know if that was it, but I felt really dizzy and faint. I rushed out of the shower and made it to my bed (dripping wet!) and just tried to catch my breath. It took me a couple minutes to feel okay. In those coup ...

Okay that makes sense. I’m glad to hear something that explains it. It was really scary.. I was afraid I’d pass out and drown in the shower! I’ll try to keep my showers short from now on. Since you are on day 16, can I ask if you had any issue with dry eyes early on in the fast? I’m on day 4 and my eyes are pretty bloodshot and uncomfortably dry. Visine only gives me relief for like 10 minutes. It’s no big deal, I can definitely deal with it, but it still sucks! How long are you planning to fast? I hope I can make it as long as you have! ... I would definitely avoid any type of shampoos, conditioners, lotions, any chemical type of products, I am almost certain that this is what caused the problems while you were in the shower. Use some type of natural soap with no chemicals, otherwise the only thing that should touch your skin is plain water. I never had dry eyes even during long fasts, don’t know what this would indicate exactly. [End]

I ended my fast several days ago in the middle of day 19. My first three days of refeeding were uneventful.
