Hey :) I tried to have as little on as possible when going in the sun. I noticed since I left Florida and have been driving all week my lips gave actually started to build up a little bit, and I haven’t been out in the sun very much before my drive either, so don’t know if that is causing it or what. But yeah finally here in California so going to be trying to go out more again, I don’t want them to get bad again that would be awful lol   [End]

I have been testing many theories and products throughout the past year and have found the answer to my endless cycle of peeling lips. I also go by the username Glen Christian, as I have posted in other similar forums. I ended up with exfolitive cheilitis because I used to bite my lips and over the course a few years left me with damaged lips that seemed incurable. I have been to the Dermatologist, Allergist, Internal Medicine, and Family Doctor. I ended up using many different types of steroids that worked for the first couple of days and then went downhill causing more issues later on. I ...   [retrieve this message]

That’s interesting because I actually used aloe vera gel straight from the plant, however that shit would dry out hella quick so I had to reapply it like every 10-20 min so it got kind of annoying doing that everyday and I didn’t really notice any improvement so I just stopped using it. ... ... It took about a month and a half for my damaged areas to fully heal, which I didn’t mind since my lips stopped peeling gradually throughout the process. The ingredients listed are aloe vera, soy bean oil, glycerin, and gelatin. The other ingredients could have been why I only needed to apply every few hours. I didn’t try the plant yet, but the capsules are awesome, for just five bucks too. I’ve spent thousands already and the solution was a plant gel capsules for five bucks wtf haha oh well. ...   [End]

The fordyce spots formed an unequal line around the wounded area which was my inner lip. My fordyce spots started making some movement for the first time in years towards my inner lip and eventually disappeared. I only decreased my applications once the wound was gone. I applied less gradually so my lips could ween off being constantly moisturised. You definitely should keep using what works for you. I’ve tried that combination method that you’re currently using. I had no success with aquaphor and/or HC creams. I first applied the aloe vera capsule to raw skin before the body created it’s own barrier, that may be the difference if you applied it to lips with a skin barrier already. Basically I knew if there was a skin barrier, it was eventually going to die and peel off. So I prevented a skin barrier from forming in the first place and let the lips heal under the aloe vera. I showered as normal and with drinks I did the waterfall technique with water bottles. I drank coffee with a straw and let it cool down 15 min. prior to drinking. I had minimal contact with liquids to my lips during the process. The waterfall technique worked just fine for me, but most my drinks had to come from a bottle to do that. I wonder if I’m the only one that seems to be getting pretty much the same amount of build up even when moisturizing? Or maybe I’m not moisturizing enough? ... ... I use a relatively small amount of Aquaphor about three times a day, and yesterday started using 1% HC (morning and night) and Fucidine (morning, after lunch, night). I had a nasty infection underneath my skin where there were dissolvable stitches. Nothing really worked to get rid of green puss oozing out the end. I tried liquid iodine, alcohol, anti-bacteria ointment. It was not until I applied hydrogen peroxide that the bacteria infection started to go away. So, it could help lips with bacteria infections. Yes, the prevex hc is a 1% hydrocortisone cream. And the prevex otc is a petroleum based barrier cream, similar to vaseline or aquaphor but with more emphasis on the barrier properties by design(it contains microcrystalline wax, which makes it drier and generally stickier). Its almost as though the prevex otc dries into an extra layer of skin almost. Many people who tried it haven’t liked it but I trust my derm’s advice to use it(same derm as Mike Pylon). ... ... 99% of us have that triangular part that’s why o know we all have some condition.. its other a infection/disease or its a immune response which is built into our bodies I.e inflammatory response of the lips.. its been turned on we just need to turn it off! And pour cold water directly on the inside of the cheecks were the damage has been done.. I use to get it bad exactly like yours!!! Before I got ec!! I’ve had that. The inside of my cheeks and all around my gums would all be blistered and peel off every day for about 5 years. Then I went to a dentist who told me I was likely allergic to my toothpaste. I switched around (took a couple years) until I finally found a toothpaste that worked for me. Turns out I was allergic to some of the common added flavors in toothpaste. I use a non-flavored toothpaste now, and no longer peel in my mouth.   [End]

I would reccomend to try this with constant moisturizing some people havehad good response and I also think many of the older people on this forum use it long term. This cream was much talked about for a while about 3 or 4 years ago its non-steroid based but works just as good if not better! It’s on my list for things to try! Also I don’t know much about Epicream but I don’t think that most creams are ideal for this treatment. I think that ointments that provide a barrier on your lips are most effective. Agreed. The cell memory has gone haywire as a result of the inflammation. Even if the inflammation completely goes away there’s still the cell memory issues, that aren’t just going to instantly dissapear. I think it was Mike Pylon’s first derm who said the cell memory issue should subside over time in a “moist sterile environment”.   [End]

Some people with faster peeling cycles do not need to manually peel their lips. The dead skin just flips up or off naturally. Many people have also tried steroids with moisturizers in past posts. It is common for people to use moisturizers with other treatments. Again, some people like me do not need to manually peel lips since it naturally exfoliates.   [End]

Yeah I remember singh94 who was using a steroid and claiming he was cured by after. On his pics, those who were and still are attentive about this point could easily see that he was peeling their lips. Of course, once he stopped the treatment, flakes came back. ... ... I maintain there are many less people than we think who were doing this method properly. ... ... You don’t want us to believe that your flakes just naturally exfoliate without doing anything, just like that.   [End]
