  • Making a sauna? by joefs   5 days  42

I have built an infrared sauna with 3, 250 watt heat lamps. The enclosure is 3.5’x5’x6.5’. With the lamps I find it is taking too long to heat up and it doesn’t get hot enough, at least I didn’t really sweat after half an hour. I have a few questions if someone could help. Does anyone have any suggestions on building some type of enclosure like a tent or box. I have a tarp that I can use to cover it? How big can this be with the lamps I have? How hot should the enclosure in this type of sauna get for good therapeutic value? ... ... Thanks   [End]
  • What's your take on doing sauna and ozone at the same time? by mtl777   18 days  85  Oxygen / Far Infrar / Hypertherm

I read that if you introduce ozone into a conventional steam sauna the ozone degrades rapidly into oxygen due to the hot ambient air and moisture inside the sauna. So they say it’s useless to do transdermal ozone therapy inside a steam sauna because the ozone degrades and turns back into oxygen before it has a chance to enter the body through the pores of the skin. ... ... Now, if you use a *far infrared* sauna instead, will you be able to avoid this problem since far infrared does not heat the ambient air (or if it does, only slightly)? ... ... I wish people wold reply to you. CZ is such a big forum, you’d think you’d get more answers here. I’m thinking Yahoo groups might be a better way to seek such answers. Sounds like you might have the CERAMIC heaters. That’s why everyone switched to CARBON heaters. The ceramic heaters have a rod that heats up the sauna where as the carbon is a sheet or a panel. The ceramic rods have to put so much heat out of that rod that it gets really hot. Try not sitting right up against it...you will still get the good infrared rays. If that dosen’t work I know where you can change out your ceramic panels with carbon and that should do the trick. ... ... Hope that helped...   [End]

Yes you can sweat on it. It has a pad,and you can put some towels under and over you to create that sauna effect. You sweat like crazy. towels absorb water...and the heat dries it and kills any pathogens.   [End]

I am going to be purchasing a sauna before fall. I have been researching them for the last couple of months. The following is from Sunlight Sauna’s website. I hope this helps answer your question. ... ... Why is a Far Infrared Sauna Better than a Hot Rock Steam Sauna? ... ... Far infrared saunas increase the body’s core temperature. This helps the body rid itself of harmful toxins through a deeper sweat. Conventional hot rock/steam heater saunas heat the air with steam, which can often be unbearably hot and you will only sweat on the surface. Steam also makes the air difficult to breath. Cheryl, ... Sorry for the delay, I’ve been on the road all week and it’s been crazy. I am just getting to my emails while I’m waiting for the train. First off, and I’m sure you already no this, but not all cell phones contain Nickel which causes most of the cell phone allergies or otherwise known as mobile phone dermititis. Not sure where to get the test kits, but they are out there and enable you to test for nickel on or in your phone. I realize this is a different issue from the radio frequencies, but I would stay away from the fancy metalic phones non the less, and purchase the more rug ...   [retrieve this message]

does anyone have any ideas of what really works when someone has severe pains in the body and especially the brain caused by the radio frequency from cell phones and wireless computers. I am not interested in biopro, I am interested in real things that might help to heal the allergy to radio frequency. I have found that most of the stick on gadgets or pendants worn by people are just for people who don’t feel the frequency. But if anyone really does have real solutions with the homeopathy or bioressonance machines, I would welcome information.   [End]

From what I was able to research on the internet, I’m gonna agree with the first response that FIR heat penetrates deeper because it does not heat the air in between. Also it seems to have a lot to do with personal preference also.   [End]
