Hi, ... ... How was your weight changing throughout your recovery? ... ... Yeah I’ve been having weird weight fluctuations recently too. Back when I had really bad candida/leaky gut and none of my food would get digested I was at about 140...pretty skinny for a male who is 5’ 10. Then I pretty much stayed at that weight for the first 6 months of severe AF, and all of a sudden starting in January of this year....I gained 25 pounds in a matter of like 2 - 3 months....out of no where. My diet didn’t change....I actually barely ate that much....just the same paleolithic protein low carb diet I was always eating. I started to take a cortisol supplement AFTER the weigh ...

Info I found informative. Very technical / informational– Dr to Drs about celiac & gluten-free. If I understand correctly, one who is sensitive can NEVER EVER think they can have a hint of gluten, thanks to our “memory cells”. Yet the video says we must heal the damage in the gut. So much for the thought of an occasional donut… Yet after 9 months (did not take any supplements mentioned in video), I can tolerate granola one day a week, breaded chicken or fish without arthritis pain. But that is my gluten sensitive experience. ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?NR=1&v=DjvKrAvolMQ&feature=en ...

Have you tried looking in to holistic medicine? I dont claim to know anything about anything but- the symptoms youve described and maybe AF too, sounds very much like a vata condition as defined by Ayurveda. There are some articles on how pranayama can help AF. Meditation and yoga are miraculous in their healing abilities. They restore us to balance and can help us heal ourselves. Im not saying that they will cure any disease, but I claim that they will absolutely make the body and mind more fit to deal with whatever life brings. If you had bad adrenal fatigue before starting this you probably also had a low sodium potassium ratio before starting and have made this worse with the stress on the adrenals from the cleanse. ... ... Assimilation, tolerance, toxicity can be some factors as to why even good supplements are backfiring. ... ... I find this interesting. As when I was in a more mild to moderate adrenal fatigue and seeing a naturopathic dr. the standard protocal worked well for me, as my body was strong enough to handle it. BUt, seems now, ( t ...

Here is what Dr Lam has to say about all these. ... ... 1. Licorice Root ... ... Licorice (Glycyrrhiza glabra and Glycyrrhiza uralensis) is grown in Europe and Asia. Licorice is a highly prized Chinese medicine. It is used in almost all of the Chinese patented herbal formulas. Licorice is the most well known herb for adrenal support. It is an anti-stress herb known to increase energy, endurance, and vitality and act as a mild tonic. Licorice is known to naturally fortify cortisone levels and it has been used to help decrease symptoms of hypoglycemia, a common side effect of decreased adrenal functi ...

Dr. Lam may want to become a student of Dr. Wilson, he will then learn about the correct use of adaptogenic herbs in AF. Dr. Wilson was talking about AF long before it was even called that, he came up with the phrase ”adrenal fatigue” in the 90’s, and is the world’s expert in this topic. Lam calls himself an ”expert”, but his protocols and AF formulations haven’t a patch on Dr. Wilson’s original studies spanning back over 35 years. I have no doubt that Lam has his successes, but the person who needs credit where credit is due to bringing AF to the attention on medicine is Dr. Wilson. The d ...

Dr Jeffries really deserves all the credit honestly. He found that physiological doses of Cortef can be used safely to treat weakened adrenals. I prefer that over a bunch of supplements by a Chiropractor. Lam is nothing great either, his protocol is very narrow minded too, doesn’t take into account nutrition at all. [End]

A physiological dose is under 30 mgs a day, not anymore than healthy adrenals would produce on their own. I would never recommend just trying 5 or 10 mg’s as that can do more damage it appears. It’s sort of like an all or nothing proposition. Either a full physiological dose, or nothing. Google ”Jeffries safe uses of cortisol”. I am gonna be going on that very soon. The problem with AF is that supplementing is just too difficult, and most don’t tolerate supplements anyways, if they have a bad stage of AF, as most on here do. If you can find the right supplement mix, by all means try that f ...

How on earth can a pharmaceutically produced corticosteroid have any benefit for human health is beyond belief. The adrenals make cortisone daily, equivalent to 10mg hydrocortisone. Giving this stuff to somebody is ”replacement” therapy, is no different than giving progesterone or estrogen therapy. You end up in trouble, but feel good initially. When you extend hormonal credit long enough to somebody they eventually hang themselves. The side-effects long term with any hormone replacement therapy are not worth the effort. But in saying that, short term cortef therapy has it place to wean pat ...

This thread got way more interesting than I originally thought ... ... Where is the contradiction between Dr.Lam’s protocol and Dr.Wilson’s? ... ... Lam isn’t against the use of glandulars or adaptogens in general. He just says not to jump on them right away when your body is in a very weakened state. That’s why he differentiates between his line of defense tools as he calls then. ... ... You might start with Lam’s program and then continue with Wilson’s, right? ... And who cares about who takes all the credit as long as we get better. There can’t be just only one guy who is 100% right. In fact there should ...

Hey forum, haven’t written here in a while. ... This month marks my official first entire year of NB. Enemas started in August (2012) though. ... ... I know it is constantly repeated that NB takes a long time, but I must say, I’ve had AF for a total of 7 years now, and the only pattern has been a constant slide. Every day I’ve felt worse than the previous, with certain periods more obvious than others. ... Like this past month, I feel NOTICEABLY more tired than the previous day, it’s crazy I don’t know when this will end. I feel like I’m already at a threshold, ready to pass out, and I ’know’ tomorro ...

Man. How bad was your AF before you started NB? For severe AF I would never recommend NB. Too many uneducated practitioners. Do they have you on glandulars? Coffee Enemas can disrupt electrolyte balance too, and intestinal flora. BE Careful. [End]

I can barely talk throughout the day, and it’s difficult at night now even. But I still can go beyond myself. ... ... *What are glandulars ? ... *I do coffee enemas yes, and I feel fkn EXHAUSTED after doing them. Glandulars are like hormones (parathyroid, thymus, bovine etc.) They can give you quite a pick-me-up, but some of us cannot tolerate it. ... ... Well it takes time to trial run the supplements. At best you will only get a correlation. But, if your health is stable (feeling the same for 4-5 days in a row+), you can add or subtract a supplement and see if you feel significantly different for the next 3-4 days, then repeat. This is not rigorous science, but the best we can do. It is tough, because often in NB you feel worse before you feel better. Hope this has helped. ... ... NB helped me immensely ...

In short, yes, there were times I felt much worse before I felt better. It did not take me a year though. ... ... Careful of glandulars, and of electrolytes (like Hawksfan said) if your doing CE’s. ... ... And remember that NB is not an ALL encompassing plan even if they sell it that way, many of us have gotten a boost by focusing on the gut in addition to NB (candida, parasites etc.) I don’t know if this applies to you, but you might think about it you need to add another component. It might be a worthwhile exercise to eliminate 1 supplement for a week, see how you feel, add it back, then eliminat ...
