Hi, ... ... If they say Colosan isn’t a magnesium supplement, why is it that everybody that uses it seems to say it’s calming? It affects me that way too. I have Magnesium Malate and Citrate but it seems pointless to take them because I don’t feel any different when I do, but Colosan makes me feel more relaxed. Why does Colosan make you feel relaxed? ... ... Is it OK to take Colosan regularly? ... ... What other magnesium sources are more absorb-able than Citrate and Malate? I also have Mg chloride [Mg oil] which also doesn’t seem to amount to anything. ... ... Thanks. ... ... [End]

Hello! Simple, almost random question here- I bought magnesium chloride as tablets for supplementation ’bout two months ago, and when I put them in my pillbox, exposed to the air, they grow soft, get beadlets of liquid on them, and sometimes totally dissolve. At one point I let one of the tablets sit on a little plastic dish to see how it would behave- it did not dissolve, but left a beadlet of liquid next to it, and the ’filler’ material (the binder the tablet was made of) went soft. Also, if the magnesium chloride tablet is in contact with a gel capsule, it seems to slightly melt the gel ...

The heart runs on magnesium and potassium, while calcium is needed to alkalize the blood and tissues and many other things. When the body drags magnesium out of the bones to alkalize and that calcium can become bone spurs, kidney stones or deposits elsewhere. The answer to all this is to be alkalized so it will not happen and taking calcium magnesium supplements will help the body maintain proper ph. Minerals are vitally important for health, and vitamins are useless without them. [End]

Yes, magnesium will cause loose stools if taking too much too soon. Start slowly when taking it internally. In order to get therapeutic levels quickly, consider transdermal magnesium, aka Mag Oil, in addition to your Citrate. This concoction is Magnesium Chloride flakes, dissolved in water, which is sprayed on the skin. Because there is no digestive involvement, it will not affect your bowel movements. I purchase my own mag flakes (Swanson’s does carry) and make my own mag oil, but there are companies that sell mag oil. Search transdermal magnesium therapy, and you’ll find information ...

2 squeezed lemons mixed with an equal amount of olive oil will be much gentler than the epsom salts if you are concerned about it. Good that you are making progress. Another thing that might help is getting an enema bag and doing plain warm water enema’s that get higher up. Those packaged ones don’t get very far past the rectum. I have a friend, very traditional medical model, who will have his colon completely removed on Tuesday. When I met him almost 3 years ago, all he thought about was his cancer returning (prostate and colon) and dying. I distracted him with dancing, but didn’t impact him too much with alternative health information. Anyway, his colon will be completely removed on Tuesday. He only weighs 140 pounds and what I am hearing is he will now only be able to eat crappy food (white bread, etc., no fruits and vegetables. I’m concerned about nutrition and his survival. He plans on doing whatever the ...

Magnesium, I have read, is a mineral that the body does not store so we need to keep up the levels from food or supplements. Mg also helps the intestinal contents keep moving along and helps with constipation problems. A craving for fats and oils may indicate your body is not able to adsorb them and possibly when the contents of the small intestine are moving along too rapidly this reduces the time for adsorbtion. It could be that you are in the early stages of a maladsorption syndrome. Do a search for this to see the causes and how people treat it. ... ... It is usually better to take a balan ...

It’s interesting because when I took an Epsom Salt bath last week, I felt very hungry the next day, and I noticed that my stomach would feel empty sooner than it would normally. Based on what I’ve read online, it’s possible that the addition of Magnesium in our system makes our body’s more effective in digesting food in our stomach, causing it to empty sooner and giving us the feeling of hunger. That’s just a theory, so it would be great if other’s could chime in. [End]

If you want a reliable measure of magnesium status, get a blood test of RBC (red blood cell) magnesium. This measures your tissue levels. Dr. William Davis from the Heart Scan Blog recommends >= 6.0 mg/dl, and says it can take months to get your level up. One reason might be that your body can steal magnesium from bone to keep serum levels within operational tolerance. Then when you’re replacing magnesium again, excess that your serum doesn’t need can go back into bone stores. (At least, that’s what I’ve figured out so far to explain why it’s taking me so long as well to build magnesium ...
