Interesting. Both oil and clay are helpful for your mouth and gums. But i wouldn’t do them together. I’m pretty new to this stuff and I’m sure there might be lots of different theories, but a basic and simple thing that I’ve gathered from my research is that the bacteria in the mouth and deep in the pockets of the gums are attracted to the oil because it is a natural anti-bacterial. By decreasing the amount of bacteria in the mouth, it enhances your oral health. There have been many studies linking good oral health to good health in general, especially heart health. The mouth is a very good avenue for bacteria to get into the blood stream. The oil pulling reduces this bacteria. ... ... T ...

I started oil pulling with coconut oil six days ago. I am 31 years old, not on any other medications, I don’t smoke, and eat healthy. After my third time oil pulling, I woke up in the morning and I felt like I was inside a ball that someone was rolling around. I was so dizzy that I just fell back down. I couldn’t move without it happening. Eventually, I was dry heaving from the intense motion sickness. I didn’t think in a million years that something as simple as swishing oil in my mouth could cause this. It lasted for three days! I had a margarita the night before with some friends an ...

Wow- what a terrible reaction! If you’ve established that it’s the oil pulling causing this, it seems very likely that you’re allergic to the oil you’re using. Since coconut oil is stronger than others for detox purposes it could be a detox reaction, but given the intensity it seems unlikely to me. ... ... If you DO decided to go back to oil pulling, try a different oil. Flax Seed, (untoasted) Sesame oil, Sunflower, etc. Personally I use coconut oil, but the detox effects are too strong for me to use every day. Olive oil DOES tend to stain your teeth plus it has a strong taste that makes it hard for some people to pull with.
