  • Mag. Chloride, why does the tablet dissolve? by #136856   4 mon  164  Minerals Support / Magnesium

Hello! Simple, almost random question here- I bought magnesium chloride as tablets for supplementation ’bout two months ago, and when I put them in my pillbox, exposed to the air, they grow soft, get beadlets of liquid on them, and sometimes totally dissolve. At one point I let one of the tablets sit on a little plastic dish to see how it would behave- it did not dissolve, but left a beadlet of liquid next to it, and the ’filler’ material (the binder the tablet was made of) went soft. Also, if the magnesium chloride tablet is in contact with a gel capsule, it seems to slightly melt the gel ...   [retrieve this message]

I just recently realized that I should have the silver fillings taken out of my mouth. I have a lot and a couple big ones. I have no desire to have like 13 drilled out and replaced with more fillings. Could I just have them pulled? can you keep your front teeth which are ok. Then just get partial fake teeth in back? Do you talk to a dentist or an oral surgeon? I desperately want to chelate heavy metals but know that I can’t until I get the metal fillings out. I think heavy metals are causing my candida.   [End]

If you can find a good holistic dentist that knows how to drill this stuff out without releasing toxic fumes and metals into your system by all means do it. But, if not pull that tooth. If you have so many to remove I would think about dentures and then learn how to eat without teeth. It isn’t easy to do unless you buy a vitamix, nutribullet and food processor. Eating calcium doesn’t benefit bones or teeth, that’s a marketing ploy. Actually vitamin D3 aids in the uptake of calcium (a severe deficiency causes rickets, with bowed legs due to softened bones) and the 80+ other minerals our body needs, but the vitamin / dairy industry would love for us to think we can improve our health by purchasing a single mineral or a pantry full of supplements, but our bodies are superbly more complicated than modern science. Hello, ... ... That is an old entry, that I found while browsing related forums. ... As I understand, your mom might have been on some medication/s for her ailments. Magnesium or any supplement/herb can react with medications. If one takes more magnesium than the body needs, it will end up cleared by the kidneys, through the bowel - in form of diarrhea -, and or will provoke muscle relaxation, not shaking. Presence of shaking tell me there has to be another reason for it. Shaking/mental clouding can occur when imbalance of sodium is present; which can be expected if the kidneys worked too hard to ...   [retrieve this message]

Hi, ... ... For some reason, I often notice a greatly-increased appetite shortly after starting a regular magnesium supplementation schedule. A few weeks ago, I added magnesium back into my supplement routine - and I’ve found that it has absolutely wrecked my somewhat-disciplined diet. With magnesium, I seem to often get the feeling of lessened ”satiety”: before, a reasonably-healthy meal would be enough to satisfy me for hours - whereas with magnesium, the same meals result in hungry feelings relatively-quickly after eating those meals. Without magnesium, I generally have not had much overw ...   [retrieve this message]

Magnesium, I have read, is a mineral that the body does not store so we need to keep up the levels from food or supplements. Mg also helps the intestinal contents keep moving along and helps with constipation problems. A craving for fats and oils may indicate your body is not able to adsorb them and possibly when the contents of the small intestine are moving along too rapidly this reduces the time for adsorbtion. It could be that you are in the early stages of a maladsorption syndrome. Do a search for this to see the causes and how people treat it. ... ... Hi Mendomaid - thanks so much for your feedback. Yeah - magnesium has seemed to have caused (or greatly contributed to) a craving for more fatty, calorie-rich foods....but I didn’t really think to tie this to malabsorption syndrome. I thought most people with malabsorption syndrome lose substantial amounts of weight, and/or have problems gaining weight? I seem to have the opposite problem: I’m very overweight, I seem to be unable to lose weight, and I gain weight easily. In fact - I think this latest food-craze has caused me to gain some weight....just in these 3-4 weeks alone. ... ... I h ...   [retrieve this message]

Two of the most common causes of leaky gut are gluten sensitivities - Celiac Disease (Celaic Sprue) and non-Celiac Sprue. In both problems a person is unable to adsorb sufficient nutrients, minerals, vitmains but still many Celiac’s are overweight. From what I have read in messages at Celiac.com Forums most of these overweight people lose weight when they follow a strict gluten free diet and they also have much less problems with food cravings. Even if the tests for CD come back negative some people find that following a GF diet beneficial. Parasites are also a common cause of leaky gut a ...   [retrieve this message]

Thanks again Mendomaid. I think I have to take a long, hard look at whether I have Celiac Sprue or non-Celiac Sprue. I wish the problem were more easily diagnosable. It’s interesting because when I took an Epsom Salt bath last week, I felt very hungry the next day, and I noticed that my stomach would feel empty sooner than it would normally. Based on what I’ve read online, it’s possible that the addition of Magnesium in our system makes our body’s more effective in digesting food in our stomach, causing it to empty sooner and giving us the feeling of hunger. That’s just a theory, so it would be great if other’s could chime in.   [End]
