New Q:

"Selenium keeps the viruses OUT of your system. Selenium keeps your brain working."

As it appears as though all the information released on the Avian Flu and any offshoots seems to suggest the worst attacks happen to the people with supposedly strong immune systems, it begs the question of exactly how the selenium would figure in at the point in the lungs of a cytokine storm --

would it-- or even the "Iodine" actually be able to work as a free agent-- (to quell the infection) and be independent of contributing to the death knell action of further putting the cells of the immune system on an inflammation overdrive..?

We know that in tandem with the standard Iodine therapies thus far, that selenium is a valuable adjunct and even may be synergistic in the action...

Q: Is the Iodine and/ or selenium even a valid approach to this equation at the point in the lungs of a cytokine storm to begin with..?

Anyone ready to help further dig for potential answers?

1). I see the effect of Iodine outside of the body on the pathogens in question.

2). I make the (wild card guess) assumption that Iodine would be able to work just as independently on the pathogens 'Inside the body' in the lung tissues and linings without becoming an inflammatory agent for the cytokine storm inflamation problem.

Currently, they are dumbing down the immune system for to handle the cytokine storm.

If we can answer this question concerning how Iodine might figure in, we will find out if the present loading of Iodine (in many of us already) is going to greatly help or greatly hurt us all here...
