first of all... let me point out that just because someone is quoted to have said a certain thing certainly does not make it a truth... quite the contrary... sometimes such sayings could possibly keep us on the wrong track for a lifetime... so be very careful of quotes that you may have accepted as truth... take for example the quote... "i think... therefore i am"... if one reflects briefly about statement one can readily see that it is not truth... for i am certainly not my thoughts... what happens if my mind is still... do i still exist...??? or do i simply disappear...???

a mentally ill person might believe they are anyone...
but every sane person sees him as he is... mentally disturbed...
after all... is it not the 'ego' that is truly the great pretender...
pretension is a lie... just as the 'ego' is a lie... and only exists within the mind of the person doing the pretending...

if one is a pretender... then one is merely playing a game on oneself...
so my question is...
why would one ever wish to pretend to be anything other than who they are...???
i think pretending comes about as the result of wishing to please/impress others...
which would come under the category of people pleasing...
and certainly not a characteristic to be desire...

i believe Mr. Rogers had it right all along...
"it's a wonderful day in the neighborhood"...
