Trudeau is an ex-con who did several years in jail for credit card fraud so I would take anything he says with a grain of salt. However, I do remember reading something about old debts being forgiven. These were debts from years ago that had been turned over to collection agencies - if you essentially played dumb and refused to acknowledge them then I remember some people got off of the hook. Credit card debts may be a different story though. That industry is pretty powerful. They are tied into the banks. I have a hard time imagining them forgiving debts, but I am not sure.
