What I have to say is just what my gay friends told me about in the past, so these are not my opinions, just hearsay.

About 80% to 90% of the gays are still stuck in the circuit party and other mentality introduced by the mainstream. For my gay friends, they didn't like the scene so they stay out of it. My friends like the marriage prospect because of the advantages that comes with it. They also live in the suburbs or other places you don't expect them to live in.
