What a beautiful message! I had a lump in my throat and tears in my eyes as I read it. Thank you for your words of encouragement--they are truly appreciated. I do try to remain upbeat and you're right--there are days when sadness and/or anger creep in. On those days I have to work to push those negative feelings away. The 2 years that we didn't see our daughter, only talked to her on the phone, were rough ones. We found out about all the self-destructive things she had done to herself. Family members told us we should just get on a plane and drop in unannounced. The summer she was pregnant, we told her we wanted to visit her and she vehemently told us "no". She lied and said she would visit us later that year. I've tried to ask her why she didn't tell us she was pregnant and why after the baby was born did she and the BF disconnect the Cell Phone and move out of state to his mother's house. All I get is "I don't know." and then the subject gets changed. Someday, I believe, she will talk about all of this so that we all can heal.

I was sorry to hear about your father-in-law's plight. As you of course know, he deserves a lot of credit for perservering. Unfortunately, the way things are going in this country, the middle class is slowly being destroyed. Jobs going overseas, Americans being replaced by visa holders. Ok---I shouldn't get all politicky (is that even a word?). Again, thank you so much for such positive support and God Bless You, too!
