I disagree with some info by Gittleman and Dr Wilson. It certainly varies case by case but I don't think that copper overload is as prevalent as they claim to be if we were to differentiate between bioavailable copper and inorganic copper metal. Copper deposits found in hair analysis likely indicate excess (unusable) inorganic copper but fails to indicate bioavailable copper levels. And given that penicillin based antibiotics flush out copper from the body and copper deficiency is behind many chronic infections, I would about consider the possibility of copper metal deposits hiding underlying deficiency. Hair analysis is still valuable tool for AFers to pinpoint any deficiencies and mineral ratio imbalances. Below is mine; clearly shows low levels of most minerals and eludes to metabolic type (fast metabolism, low energy reserves, general nutritional deficiency).
