When you talk about an herbalist and those beliefs, you're not referring to me, are you? lol
Because I'm on the same page as you about the germ theory. People obscess over which germ is present in the disease process. I don't. My approach is to use herbs to feed the body in a way that makes tissue healthy and then the germs just go away. (That's a generalization; sometimes I need to give a supplementary tonic to clean up the mess of other sluggish organs/systems in the body.)

I also agree with you on the fluoride thing. Explanation: There are 4 halogens on the periodic chart, fluoride, bromide, chloride, iodide. The elements with the lowest atomic numbers displace all the ones above it in our bodies. Guess which one contains the highest atomic number? Yup, iodine! Results are that all the other three halogens displace Iodine in the body. (That's why they started iodizing salt so as to balance the chlorine in NaCl - sodium choride.) So, does fluoride starve our thyroids? Maybe. But hopefully we're not getting so much that that's happening. But in theory it is.
Healthy teeth come from healthy food. And who told us we need floride in the first place? Dentists who are trained in allopathic ways?
Wasn't the floride from some kind of atomic waste back in the 50's?
I digress.
