You have to get it out- it was either not in right or your body is still trying to reject it- I had this same issue with my first mirena- it was put in wrong and did permanent damage to my tubes and uterus. I had constant bleeding with tissue, chronic discharge and abdominal pain- over a year and a half of this before I finally switched doctors and had it removed. I bled for a month because it had embedded in my uterus and when the doc pulled it out, a lot of my uterine lining came with it. Doctors won't tell you much about these devices, some blame the patient and tell you it's just your body or just tell you it will get better- give it a chance, etc. If you go on the mirena website, look at the physicians information and you will read about a lot of the side effects- I spoke with the manufacturer yesterday, these are the most common side effects: ovarian cyst, ectopic pregnancy, hair loss, skin rashes, sinusitis, mood swings, anxiety, depression, bloating, cramping, odorous discharge, loss of sex drive, acne, facial hair, back pain and the list goes on and on. My doctors never once acknowledged these symptoms(I had all of them) with the IUD. Don't subject yourself to this anymore- get it out and get something safer.
