I do indeed know about the Bob Beck protocol. It got a lot of press back in the early 90s, before the approval of protease inhibitors and non-nucleoside RT inhibitors made for effective antiviral treatment.
I had a friend who used it in the early 90s (along with a zillion other claimed natural cures) - he's dead now (CNS lymphoma, an opportunistic neoplasm).
I read the patent. Unfortunately, a patent is not proof of anything except that the patent-holder "thought of the idea first". You do not need to prove that your invention works in order to get a patent. For example, you can get a patent on a compound claimed to have beneficial uses as a drug before you've done a clinical trial. The con game of convincing gullible people that an official patent is equivalent to the USPTO's approval of the invention/method or certification that the invention/method works is not new: it goes all the way back to perpetual motion machines, and probably further.
Please post a link to a study showing the efficacy of blood electrification (Bob Beck protocol or otherwise) in the treatment of HIV. I sure couldn't find one! A lot of claims, no studies to back them up. Considering that this protocol has been around for well over 15 years, they've had more than enough time to test it.
