A health professional is a good naturopath that is familiar with fasting and preparation for fasting.
Call it a disclaimer if you want. You were the one complaining about heart arrhythmia which is common during a period of fasting, and other symptoms which could possibly be symptoms of something more serious related to the heart.
Why complain if you were not really concerned?! As long as there are no serious complications. Happy fasting!

As for water fasting or juice fasting, it would be better and help your body run smoother if you prepare your body a few days before fasting. However, I believe juice fasting is safer.

Fasting promotes cleansing, physical, mental, and spiritual benefits, but there are certain conditions and preparations to be met for some illnesses.
For example, if you have hypoglycemia, it could be dangerous to lower your blood sugar, using slices of bananas and avocados to balance the blood sugar will help.

When you are fasting, you are forcing your body to use stored fat for energy. Toxins are stored in body fat to protect the body, when your body uses it's fat for energy, it releases these stored toxins so they can be flushed out, along with dead, dying and diseased cells, unwanted fatty tissue, trans-fatty acids, hardened coating of mucus on the intestinal wall, toxic waste matter in the lymphatic system and bloodstream, toxins in the spleen, liver and kidney, mucus from the lungs and sinuses.
Ten pounds of fat are equal to 35,000 calories, Most of us have sufficient reserves, capable of sustaining us for many weeks.
Over doing a fast will cause your body to start breaking down vital tissue to survive. This is dangerous.

Anorexia is another example of extreme starvation that breaks down vital tissue to survive. self imposed starvation starts taking a heavy toll on the body. Skin becomes dry and flaky. Muscles begin to waste away. Bones stop growing and may become brittle. The heart weakens. With no body fat for insulation, the anorectic has difficulty staying warm. Downy hair starts to grow on the face, back, and arms in response to lower body temperature. In women, menstruation stops and permanent infertility may result. Muscle cramps, dizziness, fatigue, even brain damage and kidney and heart failure are possible.
