I haven't start his protocol yet. I do understand what you are saying though. I'm not always cautious of too high expectations and am easily disappointed; but I have good reasoning.

One reasoning is to not expect an herbalist to do anything other than focus on herbs. He is not a naturopathic doctor after all.

This would be too high of expectations of Charlie:
"problem is, no other measures of healthful living are encouraged in his approach....no diet changes, or correcting nutritional problems, or lifestyle or environments, nothing about heavy metals, no cleansing, no flushing stones out of the liver, of course he may say his liver tonic does everything."

He does indicate that his tonic will tend to flush Gallstones and says what to do about that. It works by helping the liver to create more bile. You only have to research the function of bile to determine the possibilities.

His healing seems to come from making the most powerful part of the immune system, the liver, function properly. The "curing" of many symptoms should come as a result. "Immune system" are my words. I think he has downplayed that. Since I don't understand his theory so well, I'm not sure that he believes in an immune system. He does not work with Germ Theory.
