I quit 24 years ago after several attempts. I used the nicorette gum but didn't do the entire course, where you cut down on that gradually. I just had the gum occassionaly for the first week and then it was cold turkey.

It took me a year to feel comfortable about not smoking. I stopped going to pubs or out for a meal, because a drink in your hand not only signals have a ciggerette but it weakens your resolve, and the pubs then were filled with smoke and smokers.

I found i had trouble sleeping for months. I also found i didn't know what to do with my hands, it was such a habit having a ciggerette between my fingers.

It does all get good though. You may not get the inability to sleep if you use the fasting for your addiction.

Put the money you normally spend on cigs in a box and treat yourself to something every month.

I found the bronchitis i got every time i got a cold became a thing of the past. Never had it again in 24 years.

It will be the best thing you ever did for your health. It is not only bad for your lungs, but your heart and circulatory system.
