The reason why you hear about married women not wanting to have sex with their husbands is because the married women are bored with their husbands. Routine becomes boring. The "mystery" is gone. The married men settle down and become redundant. This results in the woman being "too tired" for sex and the man being unsatisfied. I could also be old-fashioned and argue that vows are being broken.

Being single shouldn't pose these problems either. It's true that having multiple partners runs the risk of STD's, but this is why you use your brain. Don't take unnecessary risks. If you don't know the person well enough, don't do it. Ultimately STD's are always going to be a risk when having sex. It comes with the territory, even in monogamy (hepatitis, herpes, etc.)

Any emotional problems, including addictions, that develop don't stem from sex, they stem from the neediness already existing IN the person. A lot of people look to others to have that "void" filled. This is co-dependency. Such people should work on their issues before engaging in intimate acts.
