what happened?... what to do?

I have had this patch on my face for a few weeks now that is red, scaly, flaky, and itchy at times. It all started when I used some alcohol and tea tree oil on 2 pimples in the area that had erupted. I assumed I used too much and that the skin would heal in a few days (I always use al. and tt oil and this never happened before!). It's been over 2 weeks and it is still very bad. I have been using neosporin nonstop day and night - I tried lotion (made it worse) and also tried some hydrocortisone cream (also made it worse). What else can I do? What is this? Is this going to be permanent now?
