Re: roof diving

Arrg, roof diving in Florida is when you do work on a roof, and then fall off deliberately. Similar to car diving, jump in front of a vehicle, and collect insurance money. The guy who did it to us was unable to file a claim because he'd jumped in front of a car, and he was too badly injured from that one to be able to claim that sliding off our roof caused him injury. Also the neighbor kid saw him sit down and slide carefully off the roof. Florida is famous for scammers.
Check to make sure your roofer has a licence, & has current workmans comp. We didn't, and we had a pretty miserable month or two because of it.
Main street is not happy with the bail out, I heard two Obama jokes about 'change' meaning various racist rotten things, and the general concesus was that everyone would rahter eat beans for the rest of their lives than do the bailout. It's not going to help anyone owning a small business. People are pretty mad here. The local convenience store had a run on beer, they were almost out this evening when we stoped for cat food. Tomorrow should prove interesting.
