Re: questions a/b niacin

When I first took niacin, I would get so red and it would just be like a sunburn. Everywhere where I tanned over the years it showed just as if I went out in the sun and got a bikini sunburn. I have been taking niacin off and on for a couple of years and cannot really tell when I am going to get the burn. One day I'll get it, and the next at the same dose, I won't. Can't really explain. But I don't get the real redness that I used to get when I first tried the low dose that you are doing. Yesterday, I took 2000 mg of niacin and got redness, but it wasn't intense and didn't last that long. I find that when taking niacin with food, it lessens the redness and takes longer for the symptoms to appear. One thing I continue to get, though, is a runny nose when I take it.

Personally, I don't find any problem with taking niacin. Sometimes, it even helps me sleep after I go through the burn. Niacinamide doesn't do that for me.
