Not enough of a contraction to cause pain but it's a muscular contraction that won't "let go."

Massage or vigorous movement must help by forcing blood back into the muscle tissues maybe? Or dispersing toxins that are interfering with relaxation of the fibers.

I used to knead my calf muscles (hard!) to make it go away but now I know if I feel it it's mineral imbalance, or anyway bumping up mag or potassium brings relief.
