      Yes, this is normal. You are having a healing crises. It happened to me when I did my long water fast many years ago. I only did around 20 days though. I was around your age too. I would go for several days feeling great with high energy and then my body would start going through major detox for a few days where I was feeling quite ill and I had no energy. I tried to stay in bed on those days if I could. Some days I had to make myself go because of obligations. It would come in cycles. After two or three days of being ill I was in high energy mode again for several days. Then it would hit again and on I went like this. I was feeling great on my last day. I was crazy to break it. It will be best if you do not make any additional plans until you have fully recovered from the fast. You will never know which days will be your off days. Just try to rest as much as possible on all the days. I have learned from reading the fasting forums that the fast is more beneficial if you rest. I know this is easier said than done when a person has to work to survive, but we can keep ourselves from making extra plans. I have been following your progress on your website. You are doing awesome. You are also doing great with discerning which posts are bad advice for you. Some people have made some pretty ignorant comments to you. You are very fortunate that you have the Internet as well as some other great fasting books to keep yourself well informed on the subject. This is something that I did not have when I did it. I believe that you will be a success because of this. Unfortunately, I had people telling me that my body was eating my heart and all that stuff too. It made me very confused. I did not know how to break it right and I did not know about healthy eating, so on top of all that, I really did gain weight like mad when I quit. Because of all that I stopped fasting for years. I didn't know if I was doing the right thing or not by fasting. I became scared of it. I went from trying to lose a few pounds to becoming obese after fasting. I now know it was because of my ignorance and of letting the ignorance of others confuse me. I really don't think this will happen to you because of the knowledge you have already attained on the subject. I have strong faith today that if I ever did do a 20 day fast again, I could keep from gaining weight like mad after the fast. I now know how to break it right. After my bad experience I would be highly motivated to do it right. Currently, I just do short fasts of one to four days. Even that helps my body tremendously. I want to get to the place again where I can fast for seven days with ease like I used to do when I was young. I did many of those fasts at that time. Beyond that, I really don't have any fasting goals except to hear God's voice on the matter. Seven days may be enough for me. After all I am not your age anymore. LOL. My body is much more toxic than it was then so it is much harder. I feel my goals are very realistic and doable. I really believe I will make it some day. Please don't let anyone confuse you or discourage you. In other words, don't do as I did when I was your age. I guess I identify with you because it brings back memories of my experience and I somehow want you to learn from my mistakes if that is possible.
