I'm so sorry to hear about your experience as a teenager. I am still healing emotionally from something like it, but I was spared the added misfortune and indignity of a physical infection.

Personally, I don't use tampons at all. I thought about switching to organic when I got into healing my body, but I wasn't satisfied with them either because cotton is drying, even if it doesn't have pesticides. Also, I got so tired of throwing away so much stuff that I knew was going to end up in a landfill. Now I use a reusable silicon menstrual cup. I suppose it would be possible to put Iodine in that, but it would just sit in the bottom of the cup and wouldn't come into contact with the cervix unless you stood on your head. :)

Hmm. I think I have an old diaphragm that I don't use for birth control any more around here somewhere. I wonder about spreading a little bit on that and inserting it for a while. I haven't used it in a long, long time. I guess it's made out of latex, and I don't know anything about what issues that might raise.

Or maybe the bolus is really the best idea.
