The RDA for Iodine is ridiculously low. It was established to prevent goiter only.

Our entire body needs iodine, and unfortunately, here in the states anyway, we take in the other halogens (bromides, fluorides, and chlorides) in such abundance that we need to take MORE than we need of iodine (at least in the first three months) to rid our bodies of the excess.

Please read up the BSA , RRR, RR, R, posts here and listen to the iodine audios. Optimox.com has an iodine tab as well with many publications on iodine by Guy Abraham MD.
