If the fabric is 'thin' (as in most wool/cotton flannel) optimally it should be 'double thickness'...if it is something like a cotton towel, then one thickness will suffice.

Simply measure the areas (or around the areas) of your body/limbs where you'll be placing/wrapping the fabric - add up the inches (doubling that figure for 'double thickness'), and you'll have the length you need.

Don't forget, if buying fabric 'by the yard', it comes in widths of 33", 45" or 60"...so if you get a yard (36") of 60" wide fabric - you actually have a length of 60".

Castor oil packs can be used/reused over & over & over & over & over...

Castor oil is VERY 'stable' and it takes "forever" for it to degrade or become 'rancid'. I leave my oil soaked cloth on my dresser in a plastic bag, and just add oil to it 'as needed'. Some folks store the oil soaked cloths in the refrigerator, but all the research I did indicated that's likely not necessary.
