Re: Lungs & avain flu strains (article)

I explicitly discurage anyone from trying this one out.

I was probably 18 when I contracted one om my severe influenza initiated bronchitis. It has been with me the fourth day and I prayed for the weekend to come.

12 hour cure:

The time table is a bit loose.

Early spring (March?), Friday afternoon:

3 pm - 2 grogs (5cl 40% rum in 15cl of hot water) at a pub on my way from my apprenticeship school. It sure cheered me up and also cleared my chest and sinuses to a tolerable level.

4 pm - 1 l of red vine heated on a stove to some 78 C, just to foam gently, and inhaled rug over head for about 10 mins, after which the rest was sweetened with sugar and drunk over a period of may be 1.5 hours.

6 pm - 0.5 l of 40% rum heated in a pot to some 78 C and inhaled for about 15 min, after which the rest was sweetened with sugar and drunk over a period of about 2 hours. Meanwhile I have prepared a spare clean pyjamas and spare bed sheets for the night.

8 pm - Short hot shower and off to bed falling asleep.

Waking up about 8-10 times during the night soaked in sweat. Change the pyjamas and bed sheets, drink of warm water. (wet sheets and pyjamas dried on a central heating radiator)

Saturday morning:

9 am - Final waking with a general feeling of weakness, but free of any flu or bronchitis symptoms. Short warm shower, normal break fest.

11 am - Weakness gone, off to mischief, no recurrence till the next run in the fall.

I have never repeated the 12 hour cure, because I found out that the common flu can be inhibited by alcohol inhalation alone the more effectively, the earlier into the symptoms it is done. If not done, the inhalation still speeds up the flu or bronchitis recovery more or less in proportion to number of inhalations taken. But I am sure that if something really sinister should come my way, I would take the chances to see who wins.

Just a story from my beginning with Naturopathy :-) Alcohol is all natural, right?
